OT-ish: GPG problem
I'm asking here because it is the best resource I know for knowledgeable
people. The problem in question occurs on my Fedora 9 box and Fedora 10
netbook, while another person, Chris, has the problem on a Mandriva 2009 box.
Whatever is causing it, that leads me to think that it's not distro-specific.
Both of us are using kmail.
Kgpg sees and lists all the keys on my keyring.

Where is gpg-agent?
The only obstacle now to running this box as the mail server is that I do read
and send mail on it occasionally, while working on something. I need
gpg-agent, but can't find how to get it. Is it merged into another package,
or do I simply have to look at other repositories?

Attempting to update from R 2.14 to 2.15 on Ubuntu
R-SIG-Debian
I am very new to Linux so I probably am doing something stupid but I cannot seem to update to R 2.15
Using Ubuntu 12.02 Precise Penguin
I realise that debian packages are not updated regularly so I tried to follow the insructions at the R-site
So far, I have modified /etc/apt/sources.list to read

R installation problems on Linux Mint 18.1 via jessie-cran3
Is there a reason for jessie-cran3 rather than xenial? For Linux Mint 18 (admittedly
not 18.1) I have
deb https://cloud.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu xenial/
as one of the apt entries.

R installation problems on Linux Mint 18.1 via jessie-cran3
Okay folks, I give up and - frankly - I'm fed up! I thought I'd sorted all
this last week, but clearly not. I've tried using mirrors from here in the
UK, Ireland, France and the USA and whichever mirror I use, all I get is
this:
clive at climate ~ $ sudo apt-get update

gpg can't decrypt message
Hey guys,
Having a little gpg issue I was wondering if someone could help me with.
A friend of mine sent me an encrypted message. So I searched online and
found a a set of keys that correspond with his email address. And imported
them. But when I go to decrypt the message, this is what I get:
[root at ops:~] #gpg --decrypt roger-message
gpg: encrypted with 2048-bit RSA key, ID 9617EA5C,

Can't verify gpg signature for the file with hashes for the CentOS 7
Hello there. I've just downloaded the CentOS v7.0 via torrent and am
trying to verify the gpg signature for the file with hashes. When I do
"gpg --verify sha256sum.txt.asc" I get the key ID of F4A80EB5. Then I'm
trying to get the public key with "gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys
F4A80EB5" command. The gpg returns error of "no valid OpenPGP data

Can't send mail through new server
I thought I had just about got the old server to the point of being
switched off. I have been reading from the dovecot server for a couple
of days, and this evening I switched the 'sending' to the new server as
well - but I couldn't get anything out. I got:

What's special about port 19842?
I've had umpteen IPs knocking on this door yesterday. The router blocked
them, so it's not a problem, but why that port?

can't import WINE repository gpg key
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? I'm following the instruction here: http://www.winehq.org/download/deb, but when I try to add the repository's key to your system's list of trusted APT keys I get the error "invalid packet".
TIA
