Leaflet maps. Nudging co-incident markers
I have a dataset showing points, with a category for each point and its location. I simply want to display my points, in a way that users can toggle the points on and off by category. Where I have two objects in the same category I'd like to display them nudged to appear as two distinct, but very close points. I have made reproduceable example (the places are not real), which is loosely

question about updating the map
Hey there all. I have a mapping app that uses ym4r_gm to build with google maps. The markers i generate use the status of a machine to determine their color. This way our customers can pull up the map and see a color coded drawing where their machine is. So, how would i go about making this to where it could update each marker every 10 minutes or so. I would like to allow our customers to leave

bar and line plot
Hello All: Using the below dataset how can I make a barplot with Date(X) and NumEggs(Y) by Site. Then plot Temp(lineplot) It seems really simple, but I am having a hard time trying to do it by Site. Thanks Date NumEggs Site Temp 1 2008-04-22 0 Massacre Flat (RK424.5) 51.20 2 2008-04-23 0 Massacre Flat (RK424.5) 50.80 3 2008-04-24

In this case just use 'colorbar' to get a 'legend'.

Summary of data for each year
Hello All, I have a data with two columns. In one column it is date and in another column it is flow data. I was able to read the data as date and flow data. I used the following code: creek <- read.csv("creek.csv") library(ggplot2) creek[1:10,] colnames(creek) <- c("date","flow") creek$date <- as.Date(creek$date, "%m/%d/%Y") The link to my data

How to block data across multiple columns?
Dear all, Does anyone have any suggestions on how to block multiple columns of data one at a time in the midst of an analysis, having specified the blocking variable? I am running a random effects model using lmer, and my data set has multiple columns. Individuals in the study are grouped into 60 families- which is the blocking factor. The random effects are markers (labeled Pxlyy below)

Function that is giving me a headache- any help appreciated (automatic read )
note: whole function is below- I am sure I am doing something silly. when I use it like USGS(input="precipitation") it is choking on the precip.1 <- subset(DF, precipitation!="NA") b <- ddply(precip.1$precipitation, .(precip.1$gauge_name), cumsum) DF.precip <- precip.1 DF.precip$precipitation <- b$.data part, but runs fine outside of the function: days=7

calculations on columns with partially matching names
Is there a command for partial matching of character strings? Specifically, I'd like to be able to calculate the mean of the values in any columns in a data frame or matrix that have identity in part of their column names. For example, columns labeled "mpw06a" and "mpw06b" match on the first five characters; their mean would be taken whereas any columns beginning with

zoo merge() method
R users: I'd like to get some insight on an error I encounter when attempting to work with two moderately sized sets of time series data. FYI - I'm using the following versions of R and supporting packages on a Windows 2000 OS: - R version 2.4.1 (2006-12-18) - zoo version 1.2-2 - chron version 2.3-10 The two time series I'm working with are from the summer of 2004 and are: 1.)

Two y-axes boxplot
I am aware of the inherent risks of having plots with more than two axes, but I am trying to produce the graphs that I have been tasked with. That being said I am having a hard time figuring out how to have two axes onto a boxplot. below is the sample code. I would like BC on the plot produced with this code to be on a second axis with all of the others being on the first axis. This will be

read.table error
R experts, I am working with a fairly large data set comprised of 563 rows by 116 columns including several different modes. I have been unable to read in the data set completely using the read.table function and the RGui (i.e. nearly half the total number of rows are missing from the data set along with the column names). The data does read in fully using Tinn-R's Rterm; however, at several

sqlFetch and factor conversion
R users, Hello, I used sqlFetch to import a data table from MS Access 2007 and I set as.is = TRUE to prevent character vectors from becoming factors. However, I can't figure out how to prevent the $ operator from being added by sqlFetch to the end of each character vector(e.g. TD$ and SITE$). This causes subsequent parts of my code not to work and also results in some behavior that I

Multiple lmer runs using 2 'for' loops
Dear Mark and the R list, I apologise greatly for not having thanked you earlier for your help with my last mail, which involved trying to sort out variance components using two methods: a direct looped lmer, and a two-step analysis involving regressions of AFLP markers on lmer residuals for the same result (or so I hoped). I was in India for ten days and no CRAN mirror in the vicinity made
