OT: Scraper library recommendation
Hi all, this is quite off-topic, but I''m sure a lot of people here has experience in the area, so... I''m writing a website scraper script that needs to download a web page, traverse the (X)HTML tree and finally insert data and HTML pieces into a DB. Eventually this data will be served up as RSS and/or Atom. I''m currently using html/tree (htmltools); I''ve also

Rcurl, postForm()
Dear colleagues, Could I get some assistance using postForm() to scrape the business names and addresses at this website: http://www.brantford.ca/business/LocalBusinessCommunity/Pages/BusinessDirectorySearch.aspx I've read through (http://www.omegahat.org/RCurl/RCurlJSS.pdf) and scoured the web for tutorials, but I can't crack it. I'm aware that this is probably a pretty basic

First, BRAVO for this wonderful plugin: has_many_polymorphs ! Now my problem: 4 models : Collection, Page, Fragment, Belonging (which is the join table): 1 class Collection < ActiveRecord::Base 2 has_many_polymorphs :elements, 3 :through => :belongings, 4 :from => [:pages, :fragments, :collections], 5 :as => :collector, 6 :parent_order =>

Error handling with frozen RCurl function calls + Identification of frozen R processes
Dear list, I'm tackling an empiric research problem that requires me to address a whole bunch of conceptual and/or technical details at the same time which cuts time short for all the nitty-gritty details of the "components" involved. Having said this, I'm lacking the time at the moment to deeply dive into parallel computing and HTTP requests via RCurl and I hope you can help me

ScrapeR Unanticipated XML objects
Dear All, I have come across a very surprising result as I have started to learn how to use R to pull data from the web for analysis. I am trying to isolate that table headers for the quarterly income statement (qtrinc) that I pulled from Google finance. I executed the following commands after installing the scrapeR package. require(scrapeR)

Gcc 3.4.0 and syslinux-2.09 menu
The menu directory won't compile with gcc 3.4.0 because gcc complains that "ebp" cannot be used as a constraint. If preserving ebp is necessary then it will have to be done in the assembler code. Gcc 3.3.3 just seems to ignore the constraint. It didn't do anything special to preserve the register. I also noticed that getnumrows returns the contents of 0x484 which is the

[Help]:How to use "loop" to achieve this aim?
Hello, Everyone, how to use "loop" to make the process automatic and fast? When compute each sample, the script type in R almost the same, just the input and output file's name is changed(chr1 change to chr2, chr3,chr4...). The first sample's script like this: >chr1=MEDIPS.readAlignedSeqences(BSgenome="hg19", file="chr1",numrows= )

A more efficient code using whole object approach?
Dear All, I have the following code which works fine but takes 16+ hours to run and I was hoping someone could give me a hint as to how I could make it more efficient. Let me explain what the code is supposed to do. Each single row of the m.o.f matrix (n*p dim) has to go through the following operation Dm*m.o.f[i]^alpha1m where both Dm and alpha1m have n*1 dimensions. Each row of the m.o.f

naming things in functions
Hello, I'm working with R version 1.5.0 in Windows. I've written a function (SummaryMat, segment below) which uses a loop to repeatedly call another function (PercentsMat, segment below). PercentsMat creates a matrix and adds rows to it each time it is called. I use deparse(substitute(...)) to get the names of the lists sent to PercentsMat to use them as row names in the generated

[LLVMdev] BNF for IL/IR interpreter
This might be a very beginner question, but I'm looking for an example for something that I have never done. Suppose that I wanted to express actions with respect to lifted semantics of CPU instructions to an intermediate representation, BAP IL or LLVM IR. How might I go about providing a Backus Naur Form specification and then dynamically interpreting those lifted instructions by also

The maximum number of rows in a com32 menu
Hey Murali, While playing with HDT which uses your menu, I found I can't reach more than 24 rows whereas my screen is 25. set_windows_size() relies on getnumrows() to define the maximum number of possible rows. But regarding to getnumrows() code, it sounds to report "// Actually numrows - 1". On my screen which is 80x25, getnumcols x getrowcols reports 80x24. The

RFC: Towards unified semantic for casts
Hi everyone, I have an idea that should allow reducing code duplication in Casting.h while making llvm::isa, llvm::cast, llvm::dyn_cast, etc more generic. Since we added unique pointers support for these template functions (see ab480f45cd23c08cb9aa3f427aad072df249135f) I propose to generalize their semantics to deal with any pointer-like type (i.e. dereferenceable and implicitly convertible to

RFC: Towards unified semantic for casts
Looks pretty reasonable to me - with test cases. (not sure if dereferenced_type should be defined for a type that's not dereferenceable, though?)
