ip conflict with proxy arp
HI,
I''ve got a proxy arp setup with iptables and tc.
on eth0 i have a route to 172.16.2.0/24 network
on eth1 is the LAN of 172.16.1.0/24 network
I have enabled proxy arp on both interfaces.
Now accordingly, the interface will respond
to all ARP requests for which it has a route to.
Noy my setup is such, that a user on the LAN,
would like to have an ip from the 172.16.2.0/24 network.

Thick head still having problems with subnets (?)
I have defined a Home zone and placed it before the Net zone. Defined a
host 192.168.174.242 as a trusted host. Now if I ping from 242 to my fw
it works just fine (also tweaked the norfc1918 file).
Thing I do not understand is why if I try pinging or FTPing from FW to
242 I hit the all2all reject rule !
I tried reading the rules and from the INPUT chain I see a eth0_in chain
which in turn

Power alarm on module 1, resetting!
I have looked though a lot of email on this issue, and no one seems to have
the answer.
How many people are seeing this on a TDM400 card?
Does anyone have a "REAL" answer to it.
Yes, I do have the power connected to it!

RE:u32 filters and compression
Thanks:
To Stef and Tobias Geiger for giving me the answer. I used the prio to get the order right. Don't know why I did'nt think of it myself.
Compression:
Another thing that might be useful to the list is the use of compression (Deflate etc.) to get better bandwidth across links. This requires a Linux router at both ends of the link. I got the idea from a product called Peribit see

Depth-argument for sfq?
I''m not a programmer per se (including C), but...
I''d like to be able to give the define in sch_sfq.c (of, say, 2.4.20),
SFS_DEPTH other values than 128 as an argument on the tc commandline. It
could be powers of two up to 2^7 (128) as it seems that 128 is the
current maximum.
I''m a little anxious to ask the question "How do I do that?" ;-)
Instead

Nginx, Mongrel, Proxy and REMOTE_ADDR
I''m using a cluster of mongrels behind an apache 1.3 proxy pass. I''ve
been passing the request to pen, which in turn balances the cluster of
mongrels. Now, I''d like to be able to use a different server to send
the static files created by the rails application, so I tried to
replace pen with nginx. Everything seems to work fine except the
environment variable REMOTE_ADDR.

"samba-tool domain join" doesn't work with -U and -k
Hello,
Summary: "samba-tool domain join" doesn't seem to work if you pass
both "-k yes" and -U.
Samba version: 4.9.5-Debian
I have a newly-provisioned AD domain with a single DC (dc1). I'm
attempting to join a second DC (dc2), per the wiki.
On dc2:
- I have /etc/resolv.conf pointing at dc1 (confirmed all AD DNS
resolution works)
- I've copied the basic

[PATCH v2] drm/bochs: fix framebuffer setup.
The driver doesn't consider framebuffer pitch and offset, leading to a
wrong display in case offset != 0 or pitch != width * bpp. Fix it.

VGA passthrough nVidia NVS 295
I want to try to get VGA passthrough working in a Windows 7 x64 domU.
I''m running debian squeeze/testing/unstable with Jeremy''s 2.6.32.x kernel.
The best I got to work is the device showing up under Windows 7, with
all resources and whatnot.
I''ve applied the vga-loadbios patch and vBAR-pBAR patch to xen, and the
vBAR-pBAR patch to qemu-dm.

Discrete trait Ornstein–Uhlenbeck in R?
Is there a package that will allow me to fit Brownian motion and
Ornstein?Uhlenbeck models of evolution for discrete traits? I know that
geiger and ouch have commands for fitting these models for continuous
traits, but these aren't suitable for discrete trait evolution, correct?

Error plotting time series
Hi there,
when plotting a time series I got this error message:
Error in xy.coords(x, y, xlabel, ylabel, log) :
x and y lengths differ
In addition: Warning messages:
1: longer object length
is not a multiple of shorter object length in: vx.1[int.lr] + (-1) *
vx.2[int.rl]
vx.1[int.rl] and vx.2[int.rl] have the same length. Does anybody know
what the warning message means?
Thanks, Sven

How to fit a normal inverse gaussian distribution to my data using optim
Dear R Help
Please forgive my lack of knowledge,.I would be very thankful for some help.
Here is my problem:
I was using optim to estimate parameters of a model and I get this error message
"Error in optim(x0, fn = riskll, method = "L-BFGS-B", lower = lbs, upper = ubs, :
L-BFGS-B needs finite values of 'fn'"
Below is the R code I have written.

Data frame row manipulation
Greetings,
Q #1
------
How does one combine data frames by row ... no cleverness a la
merge(), just add rows.
For example, given A with 20 rows and B with 30 rows, I want C =
combine( A, B) having 50 rows.
Columns having matching names should be filled from both (all)
sources with suitable coercion, unmatched would get NA in rows whose
source does not have that column.

Accessing named elements of a vector
Dear R developers,
A great R feature is that elements of vectors, lists and dataframes can
have names:
vx = c(a=1, b=2)
lx = list(a=1, b=2)
Accessing element "a" of vx: vx['a']
Accessing element "a" of lx: lx[['a']] or lx$a
Might be a matter of taste, but I like the $ very much. Unfortunately,
vx$a is not
functional. Would it break existing compatibility

Beginner's question about t.test()
Dear All,
I am doing some exercise in statistics textbook on comparison of two
experimental means. Is it possible to use t.test() do t-test when I have
only two means, sample size, two standard deviations ? (no raw data).
Thanks.

SPlus to R
I'm trying to convert an S-Plus program to R. Since I'm a SAS programmer I'm not facile is either S-Plus or R, so I need some help. All I did was convert the underscores in S-Plus to the assignment operator <-. Here are the first few lines of the S-Plus file:
sshc _ function(rc, nc, d, method, alpha=0.05, power=0.8,
tol=0.01, tol1=.0001, tol2=.005, cc=c(.1,2),

GFX Passthrough
Hi List,
many People seem to be interested in the Graphic-Card Passthrough Feature (for
more or less obvious reasons).
Official Support is still under development, and i hope not to interfere with it
in any (bad) way ...
But i remember my own painfull and timeconsuming research when i wanted this
feature to work, so i thought perhaps this spares some time for the unpatient
users like me :)
