packet rate limiting
Hi, I''m currently looking for a QoS extension that allows to limit the packet rate to a given value. As I''m using HTB at the moment bandwidth limiting works pretty well but packet rate limiting would be superb. I do traffic shaping on a firewalling bridge (2.4.21) using iptables mark and HTB. Any suggestions would be appriciated! Regards, Mike -- COMPUTERBILD 15/03:

IMQ Stability
Hello all, I have been doing a lot of archive searching over the last week reading posts on IMQ and it''s apparent stability / instability. I have seen a number of posts about it not being maintained as well. Can anyone talk to me about IMQ''s stability in a heavy throughput environment (20 Mbps) and what was causing IMQ to fail if you know. Thanks, Mike

SIP 603 Declined error message
I have a SIP trunk from my Asterisk server to an Avaya CM server. If I place calls inbound, everything works fine. If I place calls outbound, originating from the Asterisk box, everything works fine (I have done this with the use of the .call files). If I setup an extension with the findme-followme feature and have it try to hair-pin a call back out the same trunk to the Avaya, I get a

HTB filters'' parent
Hi I am the author of /etc/net project (http://etcnet.org/), which along with other features provides QoS support. This support is done through a hierarchical configuration tree for each interface, which is translated into ''tc'' command sequence. Filters are supported and for each filter parent is determined automatically during translation: it is the last qdisc seen in the tree.

Controlling unix print queues from PC
I'm running Samba 2.0.3 from the pre-built binary (ftp://sunsite.org.uk/packages/samba/Binary_Packages/solaris/samba-2.0.3 -sunos-4.1.3.tar.Z) on a Sun IPX with SunOS 4.1.3_U1. I've defined a printer in smb.conf, from a PC (NT 4.0) I can send prints to it and view the queue OK but I can't manage the queue in any way. Policy routing with IPFW
Hi There, I've been having an issue trying to figure out a way to policy route outbound packets from a multihomed machine through the proper interface using IPFW to no avail. I've tried several different incantations of IPFW fwd/forward statements, and none of them seem to do the trick. Basically, I have a host that has multiple Internet connections. This host is running FreeBSD 4.9

ipfw question
Dear All. I want to use 'not' for 2 addresses (for both) in ipfw2 rule. The only way that looks like what I need is # ipfw add count from IP1 to not IP2,IP3 But does this rule indeed makes what I want? Does it count all packets destined to addresses other then IP2 AND IP3?! No other syntax works. For example more logically correct not IP2 AND not IP3 or even not { IP2 or IP3 } are
