simple routing protocol for VPN redundancy?
Hello all, I need a very simple routing protocol for VPN redundancy. We have several sites and each site has a Linux router and two IPCops each with an ADSL connection to the internet using different ISP''s. I have configured VPN''s between all of the sites for each IPcop on ispA and the same for the IPCops on ispB. This way, if one of the ISP fails, I change the route on the

DGD patch not detecting dead gateway
Hello all! I applied http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/routes-2.6.8-10.diff patch to kernel 2.6.8.1 and it works fine, or almost fine. It does the load balancing well, but when one link is dropped it continues to try it. At the end of http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt it is said to ping gateway 1 and gateway 2, for the kernel to know if that route is working, but since my linux is connected to the links

Redundant internet connections.
(I know that what I''m wanting to do can be done, but for some reason I can not get it to work for the life of me. I think I have been staring at it too long and too closely.) I have two different internet connections from two cooperating ISPs. I also have a small 8 block of IPs that are globally routable that both ISPs will route to me via my world facing globally routable IPs that

Soft chroot jail for sftp-server
Hi everyone I would like to enable unprivileged users to share only certain directories using SFTP without acquiring root, without setting capabilities using public-key-based forced commands. In another use case unprivileged users could write scripts that evaluate "$SSH_ORIGINAL_COMMAND" and then either execute sftp-server in a jail "$SSH_ORIGINAL_COMMAND" after

many ways to do load balancing (or not?)
I''m a little confused about the many ways I''ve read that can be used for traffic load balancing, that is, two or more interfaces to the outside world being used transparently and efficiently by the internal machines. I heard about: a) netfilter SNAT to more than one IP. If I''m correct, this is only a round robin, that is, one connection goes here, the other goes there,

High speed traffic filtering
Hi; First, sorry if this question is mostly netfilter related, than lartc, but I think you guys may have a your opinion about this. I''m using Linux 2.4.x with netfilter packet filtering / NAT on our front-end firewalls (P500 with 1Gb RAM), which are filtering traffic going to our Public Web Sites. The traffic is growing very fast since several months.. The average traffic filtered by

how to unsubscribe
Hello, I need to unsubcribe this email to the R help mailing list because I need to create an email only for this mailing list. My email account doesn't have that much space anymore and I don't have access to this every day. How can I do that? Thanks a lot -- Bárbara H. count - help
Hi, I have a data frame with several factors and I want to count the occurrences of an event resulting from an interaction of some factors. I tried to do several tables (and then converting to d.f and then merge them by one factor and the freq Tab1 <- merge (BPorAmost,BPorSector,by=c('Sample','Freq')) Tab1 <- merge (Tab1,BPorDist,by=c('Sample','Freq')) Tab1

Plotting color.legend() outside of plot region
Dear List, I am trying to plot a color.legend() in the right outer margin of my device region. I have read multiple threads on the subject and still can't get it right. I have stolen an example from one of the threads to demonstrate my problem. I have extended the outer margin using par(oma()), and have used par(xpd=NA) to tell it to plot in the device region. I can get the legend to plot

ggplot2: labels points with different colors or idnumbers
Dear list,   Using ggplot2 I could produce both boxplot and points in the same plot but instead of points I would like to label the different subjects with different colors or their idnumbers. Is there away to do it? Also how can I put three plots on the same graph with ggplot2? mfrow=c(3,1) did not do the job.   > dat    group time   id  freq 1      1   00 0018  5.21 2      1   00 3026  3.13

some questions: client for ultralinux and streaming
Greetings, I am rather new to OGG or streaming, so I like to ask some questions: First, clients: I have a sun ultra-sparc 5 running linux. What clients can I use? The xmms (that came with the redhat 6.2 installation) does not have the vorbis-pluging, and -I guess- the xmms-plugin that's on the vorbis-website is for intel-linux? Where could I get the source for the plugin and (if

is there any option like cex.axis in ggplot2?
Dear list,   I made boxplots using ggplot and want to control for x- and yaxis. Using "plot" I can do it by setting cex.axis equally to any size but can't figure out how to do it with ggplot.     ggplot(dat, aes(x = factor(time), y = volume)) + opts(axis.title.x=theme_text(size=8),axis.title.y=theme_text(size=8)) + geom_boxplot() + geom_jitter(aes(colour = id))+labs(x =
