respond_to format.json not being called
Hi all,
I''m submitting a form using jQuery, but in the respond_to block only the
format.html action is called.
This is the javascrip:

Can I omit respond_with.
If I don''t want xml results but only html can I omit respond_with in
some actions?
For example index from:
respond_with(@sectors = Sector.all)
becomes only
@sectors = Sector.all
isn''t it?

remote_form_for ajax validation
Hi,
I have been reading a lot about this, but I do not manage to do a nice
validation. I already managed to save data to the database, to
validate a field, to display a "Everything went well" message. I can
also display an error message, but the view does not end up properly.
This is the form:
<% remote_form_for(product) do |f| %>
<%= f.error_messages %>

Rails newbie here, I have been stuck on this for two days and can''t figure
out why its not working.
I want users to confirm/verify themselves by entering their current/old
password before any information is updated.
This is what My user_controller update action looks like
I''m currently using rails 3.2 with the basic has_secured_password
authentication that comes with it.

Controllers, Models, and Validations...
Hello,
After listening to DHH''s 2006 RailsConf keynote, I decided to take a
leap on my current application and do a little more re-organizing to
make it more CRUD-based. As such, I ended up changing some things
around to get this (simplified):
User has_many :enrollments, :conditions => ''status > 0''
User has_many :schools, :through => :enrollments
User has_many

Updating a belongs_to foreign key leaves the old association object available
Perhaps this is intentional, but it seems unlikely:
class Person < ActiveRecord::Base
belongs_to :school
end
p = Person.find(:first)
p.school # nil
p.school_id = School.find_by_name(''High School'').id
p.school.name # High School
p.school_id = School.find_by_name(''Primary School'').id
p.school.name # High School <= Shouldn''t this be Primary
