Personal Composer
I have installed Personal Composer 2 in Wine 1.0.1 (Windows XP) under Ubuntu Linux 9.04. The Program seems to run OK, and I can enter notes into a musical sheet, but when I try to play the music there is no Sound!
If I look in the Wine Audio Properties, the ALSA Driver is checked, and I have 'Wine midi driver' and 'Midi Through' under MIDI In/Out Devices; pressing the Test Sound

Noteworthy Composer crashes when print preview is called.
I have just installed Noteworthy Composer v2.0
It seems to work fine except when I try to call the print preview. The print preview shows up briefly and then Noteworthy shuts itself down.
This is almost my first attempt to install anything using Wine. Not quite my first as I installed the Noteworthy Viewer as a trial and that worked once I had sorted out how to get MIDI working. Print preview

Re: Noteworthy Composer under WineDbg
Hi Andrew, I'm moving this over to wine-users for now as there isn't a bug
identified yet that I can see.

This is a red herring. It's not trying to display a dialog, it's telling
you that the default printer specified in win.ini

what will january 19th bring?
so, the rumor is that apple will announce
an authoring-tool for e-books tomorrow,
and most specifically for digital text-books.
and, if you look closely, they _are_ rumors.
nothing more... plus, they don't even seem
to be coming from sources inside of apple.
nonetheless, the rumor is "authoring tools".
"garageband for e-books", as ars called it...
if it's true,

[PATCH 1/2] launch: direct: manually compose iscsi:// URIs
Move the creation of iscsi URIs away from make_uri, composing them
manually: this is needed because libxml assumes colons (':') to separate
user and password for the authority part, while with iscsi URIs the
separator is percentage ('%'), which would be percent-encoded by libxml.

Suggestiong for a tablet computer to run Centos-6/7?
I have an iPad Air. Nice kit and good battery life but experience has shown
the iPad is just a little too opaque and network dependent for my taste.
I was wondering if there existed a similarly sized/robust tablet that can run
CentOS-6/7 that anyone would recommend? I am looking from something that I
can take on international trips that I can scrub on a regular basis. But, I

Notation Composer crash, seems random
Greetings.
This is my first post to the mailing list, and my first step into bug
reporting territory. I'll try to be as thorough as possible. :-)
I registered as a maintainer of Notation Composer (midi notation
program, demo) last year. At that time, I was using Composer 2.1.2
with Wine 0.9.45. It worked well enough to earn a gold rating. My
AppDB entry has since gotten stale due to neglect,

Wine, JACK and midi?
Hey there,
I'm a bit new to WINE, not used it much outside of when I used to play
Diablo II on it a year or two ago.
Anyways, another thing I'm currently experimenting with is music
composition. I've got my Rosegarden (sequencer) and qsynth running
over JACK, but frankly, the free soundfonts I've found have been
pretty dire. The level of cheese involved is enough to kill a man.

Composing Music - R Package
Hi R Users,
Thanks in advance.
I am using R-2.11.1 on Windows XP.
May I request you to assist me for the following please.
1. Is there any R-package or if any to compose music?
2. Is there any R-package or if any to analyse music?
Once again, thank you very much for the time you have given.

.specification or .gemspec?
Hi,
I am currently working on Heroku (herokugarden.com) and pushing to the
Heroku Git repo from my local computer. I am also installing gems on
local. When I install gems locally, they generate .gemspec files in a
specification/ folder. However, when I push through to Heroku, it tells
me that I''m missing a .specification file for that gem and that I should
run ''rake

Adviced way of tagging music
I change a lot of my CD to Ogg to be able to listen them easily from my
computer (I use foobar, I was used to WMP but it does not support library
for Ogg files and plug-ins I found for this where poor) without the need for
frequent CD changing.
I like my music to be richly tagged. But with classical music CD it is a
real pain to tag those files. Typical problems involve:

gpgcheck of rpms / anaconda / kickstart / composer install
Hi all,
I wonder if the gpgchecks are done while installing a system via
anaconda? Any experts here?
I was playing with the livemedia-creator and had a 3rd party repo in my
ks file. The packages were installed without any problems although
having not any key in the rpm db imported. So that leads me to the
assumption that the gpgchecks are not done. How to get the integrity
check done?

Newbe Question
Greetings,
Can anyone tell me what to do about "Can't open MIDI device '/dev/sequencer'!
(No such device): Load MIDI sequencer kernel driver !" ?
Is there a way to do this without recompiling my kernel? I have sound
working for everything else. I get this message whenever I try to run
any M$-Office app, such as M$-Word. Lotus Notes v5, et. al. work fine.

Support for layers and alpha channel?
First of all congratulations on reaching alpha status.
I was wondering if you people are implementing multiple layer support
into the codec. I don't know if it should be in the container (ogg) or
codec (theora) but perhaps the syncing requires at least support in the
codec.
For example a commercial: a cup of hot chocolate with steam escaping.
Little action, low bandwidth. Then comes the

Looking for NoteWorthy Composer users under Wine
I am looking for people that is running NWC under Wine. I
think there is a bug or something similar. As Wine can not
fine the file nwcv15.ttf which, however, is placed in the
right. I would like to know from other users how they have
fixed this problem.
I have got a lot of great help from different people to set
up the font directory and all, but that does not seem
enough to make this
