CentOS4 desktop has stopped recognizing removable media - haldaemon problem?
USB sticks and cameras used to pop right up on my desktop. Now they don't. I've checked the Gnome "Drives and Media Preferences" and nothing has changed -- I have "Mount removable media when inserted" etc. (Tried toggling it off and back on, no effect.) I've logged out and back in, even rebooted. /var/log/messages shows the devices are being recognized by udev:

SCSI controller setup
I have an IDE based PC running Linux/CentOS4 to which I wish to attach a scsi dlt. The host controller is an Adaptec AHA3940 something that lspci reports as: SCSI storage controller: Initio Corporation 360P (rev 02). I would like to have the system load the driver for this adapter at boot but I have two problems: 1. I am not sure which driver to use; and 2. I do not know how to force

kjournald panic in 2.4.20 RedHat 7.2
Hi, If this is a redundant post I apologize. I am running 2.4.20 on what has been a very stable Athlon machine for months, tried to move a 2 GB file from an ext2 partition to an ext3 and kjournald crashed. ServeRAID 4Lx - Plain 2.6.12.6 works - Xen not
Hi *, I try to install Xen 3.0.0 on a IBM x342 with a ServeRAID 4Lx controller. The box boots with "plain" 2.6.12.6 (aic7xx- and serveraid-support included). It does not with a similar configuration of 2.6.12.6-xen0. Any hints, boot options? by Töns -- There is no safe distance. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

Recent kernel update vs usb disk
Hello there, since kernel update 2.6.32-220.4.1.el6, one of my USB external SATA drives is not mounting. With kernel 2.6.32-131.21.1.el6, it auto-mounts in GNOME desktop when I plug the disk. When I plug the disk, this wakes it up and I see in /var/log/messages: kernel: usb 2-4.2: USB disconnect, address 11 kernel: usb 2-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 13 kernel: usb

Adaptec SCSI Card 2930LP supported by CentOS 5.x?
Hi, for a specific application we need a low-profile SCSI card (PCI) with external 50pin connector. I thought about getting an "Adaptec SCSI Card 2930LP". However I was not able to find any usable information about wether this card is supported by Linux/CentOS 5.x or not. Does anyone have this card working with a CentOS 5.x machine? Alternatively: Are there any linux-supported

mysql errors
Since updating * via CVS earlier this week, I've been having problems with cdr_mysql. Prior to that time my queries and cdr all worked fine. Now, even though my queries still work, I get the messages similar to this: ERROR[1211374384]: cdr_addon_mysql.c:203 mysql_log: Failed to insert into databas -- Hungup 'Zap/74-1' Anyone have any suggestions what went wrong?

Smp kernel on up machine???
Can anyone tell me if there has been testing of using an SMP kernel on a UP machine and if that is bad? I have an ext3 filesystem that keeps getting corrupt. Certain directories only get I/O errors, trying to access beyond the end of the device. Thanks, Gabe

PRI Error T100P
I have seen this posted around the list a few times, but have never found my exact error or even a solution to this. I was getting this error every few seconds...... After moving the card to a different PCI slot and turning off some devices that are not needed. I was able to get the messages down to about every 10 minutes and the T1 card now is sitting in it's own intterupt. Apr 25 23:49:15

Zaptel / TDM400P card stopped working
Hi I have a Dell PE2300 with a Digium TDM400P line card in it (with one module to handle an inbound phone line). This is running on a Fedora 8 system with Asterisk 1.4.21.2-1.fc8 This system has been working nicely for about 12 months. After a recent move of office and relocation of the server Asterisk is back on line, but the TDM line card has stopped working. I have spent half a day

Possible solution to Zaptel panics
Heya Mark (and others), Here's an update on my adventures while trying to debug the Zaptel-related panics, as discussed on this list a while back. While debugging the problem, I completely swapped the machine for an entirely different model (Supermicro dual Xeon 2.4GHz with 2Gb of RAM), put the cards in, recompiled * + Zaptel and administered my stress-test. The machine stayed up in excess

Hi, Afraid I dont have a very new system to try out Xen.. It''s an ia32 PIII machine with 1GB memory (that''s gud i believe). When I try to build the initrd image for my xen kernel, i get error messages complaining about missing modules, so am trying to compile them on my own. Could find support for the remaining three, but am left with lpfcdd.ko. Couldnt find an appropriate

Running Debian as DomU
Hello, I just gain experiences in using XEN and hope you can help me. My hostsystem is Centos5 that I installed on a Software-Raid (Level 1). Afterwards I downloaded the debian-tarball from the jailtime.org website, extracted/mounted the image and copied the "*/lib/modules/*<kernelversion>"-folder from my host to the guest. My XEN-Configfile looks like this: kernel =
