Actionmailer - Multipart and Outlook?
Hi,
I''m having issues with getting a consistent result with the emails I am
sending using Actionmailer.
Problem: Emails that I send with plain text, rich text, and attachments do
not display the same results across GMail, Yahoo, Outlook and Thunderbird.
Scenario:
I am sending an email with text/plain, text/html, and 2 attachments using
the code below, and I''ve specified the

problems getting ActionMailer working (on server)
Hi,
I''ve read the Agile Rails book''s chapter on ActionMailer a few times.
Seems pretty straight forward. Unfortunately I can''t get my
application to actually send mail.
I uploaded my application to the web server and tried to get a mail
message sent. Nothing happened. I looked in the log file and it says

ActionMailer view overwriting ActionController view?
Hi All,
Accidentally posted this in comp.lang.ruby, now trying again in
hopefully the right place:
I''m having a bizarre problem. I have a page that let''s you share a
link from the current page with other users. You can share with other
users of the site (by selecting them from your list of friends) or
arbitrary users by entering e-mail addresses. In both scenarios the

Passing array to the email body using ActionMailer
Hi, all
I am new to actionmailer. I am writing a script that sends emails
contains lots of file names.
So the email will look like:
hi,
filename1
filename2
filename3
.
.
.
filenameN
So I want to pass an array containing all the filenames into the email
body.
My code is below:
class Notifier < ActionMailer::Base
def log_report(recipient, files)

I have a recipient_bcc_maps which contains a bcc map that is updated everyday:
rbcc.pcre:
if !/backup.*@/
/^([^+_]*).*@([^.]*)/ backup+071.${1}-${2}@adomain.tld
endif
the 071 portion is changed each day to the current day of the year.
Everything works, but I get an error from dovecot on every message:
lda(backup at adomain.tld): Error: User initialization failed: Namespace '':

ActionMailer view templates don''t pick up application_helper.rb?
It seems that helper methods defined in application_helper.rb aren''t
available in ActionMailer views.
Is that intentional?

ActionMailer to send to multiple people
I''ve been working with ActionMailer for a few days and finally have a
pretty good grasp of it. In the book I''m reading, it shows how to send
to multiple users or an array of users.
Is there a setting or some configuration I can do to send the email to
each person separately, or would I just need to loop through each user
and send one email at a time?
What is the best way to

Understanding ActionMailer::Base.new
While writing a small plugin I stumbled upon this strangeness. I have
TMail objects stored in database for process that sends them out
whenever needed.
Obvious way of sending them out would be calling
ActionMailer::Base.deliver(my_mail_object)
That works just fine. However I have method chain hooking into instance
method deliver!:
alias_method_chain :deliver!, :something_crazy

bcc tools and bpftrace packages misbuilt?
After upgrading to 8.1.1911, bcc-tools and bpftrace seem to be broken.
Current package versions I have: bpftrace-0.9-3.el8.x86_64 and bcc-tools-0.8.0-4.el8.x86_64
Both of these seem to be pulling in LLVM version 7, rather than the version 8 that is in 8.1.1911:

ActionMailer Sending Two text/plain Parts
Hello ~
I have a working ActionMailer Action that takes the template to use as
an argument so I have one action that handles multiple emails. The
email sends just fine, and the correct email templates are used, but
ActionMailer is throwing in its own text/plain section in addition to
the one I specify. Does anyone have any ideas on why this might be
occuring, when I am specificially specifying
