Prototype.js and Coremetrics eluminate.js issues
Hi,
I am trying to use prototype.js on a JSP that also contains some
javascript from Coremetrics (eluminate.js). Coremetrics is used for
tracking marketing clicks.
When I have both of these javascript imports on the page I get
javascript errors in the eluminate.js file. I get javascript errors
that say "Undeterminate string constant."
It looks like the prototype.js file is somehow

Submitting form using link_to
I''ve got a form with a paginator and I''d like to save the contents of the
form whenever the user moves to a different page. Since the form contents
aren''t submitted when a link is clicked, I thought I''d just change the
action of the form to the URL of the paginator link and then submit the form
using form.submit().
The form submits but I keep getting a 404

Here''s what I''m trying to do. I''m using this page as a create and
edit page for a car database. If I''m calling the page in edit mode,
I''ll want the make, model and year set (using the

Disabling S4 primitive dispatch during method resolution affects namespace load actions
Hello,
This problem originally surfaced as an interaction between 'brms',
'rstan' and 'Rcpp' [1]: a call to dimnames() from the 'brms' package on
an object of an S4 class owned by the 'rstan' package tried to load its
namespace. rstan:::.onLoad needs to load Rcpp modules, which uses load
actions and reference classes. Since methods:::.findInheritedMethods

Behaviour and scriptaculous
I have a <div> that I want to toggle its visibility. I have "hide"
text which makes it hide an makes the text "show" visible.
My problem is I don''t want the "hide" text to display if javascript is
disabled. So it starts out as display:none. I can then make it
visible by window.onload.
The problem is when I use the onload handler then the text does

How to have a form within a form?
Say I am building a blogging platform, and I want to allow users to be
able to add an avatar without leaving the page, when they''re writing a
post. I need the avatar information to be included in the form for the
post. So for example, after a user adds a new avatar while writing a
new blog post, it would be available to be selected as the avatar to be

Best practices - field initialization based on display rules
All,
I have a form with the following field interaction rules.
Given checkbox A,
text field B
text field C
If checkbox A is checked then make text field C equal to the value of
text field B and disable field C.
If checkbox A is unchecked then enable field C.
In order to display a form where I''m manipulating an already existing
object, I have something like this in my RHTML template

how to give a form a name
Using a <%= form_tag ... %>, how do I give a form a name, so that I can
reference it with javascript? I sure can''t figure this out from the docs...
Thanks,
Shelby
PS - what I am trying to do is just have the focus in the first form field
when the form is loaded. There has to be an easy way to do this, but I
can''t figure it out...
