value.

host get its own allocated bandwidth.
Btw about last email sent to this list asking about QoS, i ve read LARTC

Re: Re: Still with HTB..
Kazaa, DAP, FlashGet, or anything that can consume high bandwidth welcome.
I am not affraid anymore my clients open any program like that. With HTB
qdisc every host get its allocated bandwidth fairly.
The key is in SFQ leaf, with QUANTUM and PERTURB value that you must set
correctly according to your needs.
I am not so sure if you should create each host in one single class. I want

Using two (...) in a function
Hello R-Helpers,
I am not sure if it is a very simple question but I would like to use two
(...) in a function, for example,
this is a script where I would like to input the variable names (in one of
the (...)) and the variances associated to those variables which are not
calculated in the script because there is a specific software to calculate
it (the other (...))

Slow header fetching rate over nfs mailspool.
We are setting up a Dovecot over a pair of NFS which mirrored with DRBD
+Heartbeat,
under Debian Etch AMD64 with Kernel 2.6.22-5.
The problem was slow header downloading rate. We had tried to use
postal to inject 500 emails which are under 5KB each,
but when ever we start up Mail.app, Thunderbird or even OE6, the
header download rate is terrible slow.
Its look like a few sec for just 1

Strange HFSC behavior - bug? my misconfiguration/lack of knowledge?
Hi
I''m moving to hfcs (mostly succesfuly:) ), but I''ve encountered a strange
problem: When I download something from this server using wget (one thread)
via an idle uplink, I get no more than 130 kbit/s, and when I''m using
prozilla (or start more wgets), I get about 200 kbit, but still it''s not all
the link can do (240) - the rest remamins unused.
Is this

How to learn abut what is in the samba ldap directory
I once upon a time worked with DAP and watched LDAP being created as
something that actually could work...
Showing my age here.
What little I have done with LDAP has been very clearly delineated so
that I knew what was being done. Here, with Samba, and I guess
actually, it is AD, I have not found that. Yet. But there are always
tools.
So I am looking at: phpLDAPadmin
I know these

Error when comiling ices-2.0
When compiling ices-2.0, I got the following error:
In file included from config.h:4,
from input.c:15:
stream.h:16:25: shout/shout.h: No such file or directory
Has anyone encountered this problem before? It appears that these headers are
missing...does anyone know where they may be located? Any insight is much
appreciated.

Limit number of connections
Hello again,
I have a router/nat linux box. I managed to create some HTB classes and
everything is OK.
When perople are usig download managers like FlashGet and DAP (multiple
connection ones), the ceil limiting works okay,
but the rate parameter is somehow useles... The guaranteed bandwidth is
never reached.
So what can I do to limit the number of connections/computer?
I want to make sure that

HTB - problem with one thread
Hello,
Besides a very good functionality, I have a small, yet stressing, problem.
Let''s say I have a bandwidth of N bits.
I have X clients, everyone with his fixed bandwidth.
I create htb qdsics for each client. Each leaf has sfq queueing
discipline.
A sample config would be like this :
tc class add dev eth0 parent 1:2 classid 1:346 htb rate 32Kbit ceil 32Kbit
burst 4k

Tools For Preparing Data For Analysis
As noted on the R-project web site itself ( www.r-project.org ->
Manuals -> R Data Import/Export ), it can be cumbersome to prepare
messy and dirty data for analysis with the R tool itself. I've also
seen at least one S programming book (one of the yellow Springer ones)
that says, more briefly, the same thing.
The R Data Import/Export page recommends examples using SAS, Perl,
Python, and

where is smbgroupedit and differenet other questions to Samba & AD
Hello List-Friends ;-)
O.K. I am a real beginner, so please don't hurt me ;-)
but im still working since a few days to get it running and google is my best friend.
I also bought O'Reilly 's Samba Book and a lot of other online stuff, but AD-Samba-winbind should be too new.
I use Suse 9.1 and Samba 3.0.4 as ADS Member Server.
We have an W2k Advanced Server (and a M$-Admin which

DSD Approved Products
Hi,
I am considering installing several `servers' in a facility that needs
to conform
with the products listed at: DSD Approved Products
http://www.dsd.gov.au/infosec/evaluation_services/epl/dap.html
As far as i can see freebsd performs above and beyond, for all the required
criteria in the act. Can we see freebsd listed as an approved product in the
near future?
Best Regards,

Ok. It was already that way.

domain users:x:10000:
dap:x:10003:
dti:x:10001:
For some reason with the administrator user is not working, I put my user
as domain admin and include him as a member of unix and now I can access
the security tab.

Good day,

Googled but could not find a version for my centos.
Found one GUI for Fedora 14 x86_64.
Would that install on my system without breaking it.
or
Maybe one for my system that I missed?
Some advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

how to emulate large IP routing table
Hi all
I am conducting the experiments comparing IP router forwarding delay and
MPLS LSR forwarding delay, it is obvious in theory MPLS in Core should be
faster than IP, but for small netork (only have several core routers),
result show it is not, this is why I want emulate a large IP routing table
in one core router.
can I do it and how ? right now I use static routing table (by using command
