[Bridge] <kernel BUG> generated on bridge up/down & other issues
Hi, I've been encountering some problems with bridging under linux 2.6.12-9 (ubuntu Breezy Badger). Apologies for the newbie-ish email: problem is likely a config issues, but docs appear to be sparse and I can't find much reference to the problem/solution on the 'net; trial and error really isn't working... Am attempting to bridge an offsite network to the central

[Bridge] Bridging two private lans w/ PPP and brtcl
Hi all, I'm trying to do the following (ASCII art diagram viewable in fixed-width font at end of message): Take 2 private LANs, seperated by the internet, and bridge them by creating a bridge from 2 ethernet devices and a ppp interface tunneled over ssh between the two linux boxes concerned. The setup on each of the two networks is nearly identical, and is as follows: The network has

Posible error en la documentación de "aggregate"
Hola compañeros, estaba utilizando la función "aggregate" y quería que tuviese en cuenta los NAs. He leido la documentación de dicha función y aparece esto: # and if you want to treat NAs as a group fby1 <- factor(by1, exclude = "") fby2 <- factor(by2, exclude = "") aggregate(x = testDF, by = list(fby1, fby2), FUN = "mean")

[mh@designassembly.de: [Vtun] Windows port]
Just spotted this on the VTun mailing list. Might be interesting, if there were a TUN/TAP driver for windows it would be a lot easier to make a M$ port of tinc. Not that I feel much motivation to do so... ----- Forwarded message from Michael Heyse <mh@designassembly.de> ----- From: "Michael Heyse" <mh@designassembly.de> To: "VTun mailing list"

[Bridge] new gretap, bridging and mtu
Greetings all, I've setup a new gretap device as per Herbert Xu's new patches and it works as expected for smaller MTU. I'm wondering if gretap tunnels handle fragmentation at all or if this might be a bridge related issue. The same setup works quite well if I use vtun with a tap device however, so while this isn't entirely bridge-related, Maybe someone here might have

Re: Multiple client access same file
Ohh, hmm. I'll try it at work if I get some time and see what happens. I have a Samba benchmark I can run against one of our unused servers, and I'll try to have 16 "users" access the same iso copied and mounted twice, just as you're doing. I might not get time to do this next week, so in the mean time, a good troubleshooting technique is to strip any as many smb.conf

Bridging lan over wireless link
Hi all, I want to create a bridge (see picture below) between 2 LANs with the same IP range (192.168.0.0/24) using 2 wireless links that use load sharing over multiple interfaces (as descibed here: http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.loadshare.html) for load balancing and fault tolerance. Both links should use IPsec for encryption. I have googled for an example that does this but I could not find it.

Two sources on one mountpoint?
also, you can try two more things: 1- make the mix by hardware: a very simple mix console can do that. you can build it starting from resistors and capacitors. You can find a lot of such circuits in google. 2- mixing by soft: I can't tell you right now which soft can do that, but may be you find someone. chao, karel --- Geoff Shang <gshang@uq.net.au> wrote: > Hi: > >

Connecting two LANs over a slow link
Hi, I'm having some trouble connecting the SMB networks on two LANs that are connected over a "slow" (DSL) link: Network B: 172.16.0.0/24 Domain B: office Network A: 172.16.1.0/24 Domain A: home gate.office and gate.home are the respective networks' NAT gateways connecting to the internet over ADSL lines. The private IP spaces are connected to each other via an ipsec tunnel

vtun -- no IPv6 support?
Reading many comments about vtun available through google searchs seems to imply it supports IPv6. When I install it (v 3.0.2-1) and bind it to an interface that does NOT have IPv4 defined (only v6), start the service, and do a 'netstat -nat|grep 5000', I see it bound to 0.0.0.0:5000, not to the IPv6 0::/128 equiv address. What gives? IPv6 support or not? Meanwhile I found the kame

Massive confusion
I'm probably thinking way too hard on this... but I've already got a headache. I've setting up a VPN for a client between two sites. Someone had recommended vtun, so I gave it a try. I was VERY put off by the lack of decent documentation. I _think_ I got a VPN set up between the two sites, but it wasn't working right and I gave up because the documentation sucked. So, then I

Multiple Login issues with XP, Win2K
I just recently set up Samba for the first time so I'm new to all of this. I can get my XP to access the shares as a workgroup but I cannot get it to be a member of the domain. When I try to login it responds with an error message about "Multiple Logins are not allowed" Any hints on where I should start to look. smb.conf looks fine and both Windows and Unix users are have been

Interconnecting two lans using Asterisk over a PSTN
Hello, I am a newbie in Asterisk IP PBX but I am very impressed by its functionalities. I have read that It can work over IP network and across the PSTN. I am not very sure how it works over the PSTN.. In case if people have not yet the Internet or SDL access, I would like just to know if it is possible to interconnect two IP LANs using the traditionnal analog Network and Asterisk PBX? In such I
