CentOS LiveCD on USB
I have been following these instructions: https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=501 to put a bunch of utilities (Clonezilla, SystemRescue, CentOS netinstall/rescue, etc.) on a single USB key. It works great for everything (including Ubuntu Live) except the CentOS 6.4 LiveCD. (You can see my postings at the bottom of the forum.) When booting the LiveCD, I got: Kernel panic - not syncing:

has anyone tried adsl-optmizer kernel patches for dsl modems?
Hi I''m using wondershaper like script. But noticed imperfect scheduling. By googling, I found some patches that takes the aal5 atm overhead in the scheduling algorithms. http://www.adsl-optimizer.dk/ADSL-optimizer/ Before trying it, has anyone tried these patches? they apply on 2.4.29 kernel and 2.6.9 TC. I use centos4 with a 2.6 kernel, so I can''t try these easily. Thanks

postfix pb with mass emails
Hi I'm hosting a forum (phpbb) with more than 3500 users with centos 4.3. The forum admins would like to send an email to its (3500) users. I configured phpbb to use smtp (postfix-2.1.5-4.2.RHEL4.mysql.centos4) to send the email. I raised the max destination limit from 1000 to 5000, and made a test. Here the disaster began: Majority of the users received from 20 to 50 emails. Looking at the

dag repo and perl dependencies naming
Hi I'm trying to install amavisd-new from dag repo on centos3. In the spec file perl dependencies use parenthesis: perl(Digest::MD5) it also uses '-': perl-MailTools The problem is that only the second notation is available: perl-MD5 I know this is an old problem. Is this only centos related? Is there a workaround? Do I have to modify the spec file? I'd like to use yum...

CentOS 4.4 LiveCD instructions
I'm upgrading my current RedHat9 installation to CentOS 4.4, so decided to buy the 4.4 LiveCD (rather than downloading and burning an ISO). I thought the LiveCD was simply a 'reduced' version and that I could install from it, but I find I don't actually know what to do with it and can't find any relatively simple instructions (I'm a bit of a newbie to linux but think

EVMS?
EVMS Enterprise Volume Management System sounds interesting, looks like it supported CentOS4, but not CentOS5. problem booting (Fedora) LiveCD ISO over PXELINUX
This is an issue I've researched quite a bit on bug lists, and looked in the Syslinux Wiki for a way to do this, but haven't yet found a solution. 1) I have an existing Fedora 13 LiveCD which I burned to a CD and tested on a system without issue. 2) I then took that same ISO and dropped it in my pxelinux.cfg/default for being able to boot over the network. I made sure to extract the

Updated livecd building tool
I updated the livecd-tools package from version 013 to 014. This update introduces new interesting features like : - support for Xen kernel - built-in md5sum into the resulting LiveCD ISO - a new API See https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/wiki/GetToolset for instructions on how to get this updated toolset. Since it is a major update, I expect some bugs. I am looking for feedback from
