strange problem with system call
Hi,
I am using backgroundrb to create a automated system of typo blogs. So, users
can create new typo applications using web interface and all that jazz.
Now..its working perfectly except one minor glitch. Since latest version of
typo has a command called "typo", i simply use that command to install new
typo app.And it works.

SEM eigen value error 0 X 0 matrix
Using R-studio, I am trying to run a structural equation model and I am
running into problems with testing my primary model. Once I specify
everything and try to run it I get this error:
Error in eigen(S, symmetric = TRUE, only.values = TRUE) : 0 x 0 matrix
And when I look at the object for my primary model in my workspace, which is
created after I specify it, it lists all my model components,

will take offence of it.)
Hello all,
I will be attending useR 2009 next week, and was wondering if there are any

I want to blog!
This isn''t Rails or Ruby related, but I just need some advice and
thought I''d ask the bright individuals here. I want to start my own
blog but I''m not sure where to begin. I don''t want to get a blogger
account because I want to have my own domain. Blogger also doesn''t
have many features. My hosting service is 1AND1 so it supports php,
cgi and mysql.

Help request: highlighting R code on WordPress.com blogs
Hello dear R help members (and also Yihui and Romain),
There are currently 28 R bloggers (out of the 117
R-bloggers<http://www.r-bloggers.com/>I know of) that are using
wordpress.com for publishing their R code (and I suspect this number will
increase with time).
WordPress.com doesn't support R syntax highlighting, nor can it
be embedded from other services (like gist

I just installed R 3.4.4 and Rstudio on my computer with the OS Ubuntu

I have trying setting the R_HOME using:

However it did not work. Any idea how to resolve this?

Time-series moving average question
Hi Don, wow, you are so right. I picked that piece up from the bloggers tutorial and since I am R naive yet, I thought it was all one step
moving_average = forecast(ma(tdat[1:31], order=2), h=5)
Truly, I usually print and check at every step I can, as painful as it is sometimes.
Great lesson for this novice usR.
So the first and last values are NA in each case? Do you know why? Should I replace

Execute R codes without installing R environment
Hi Daniel,
There seems to be a way to package the R interpreter and a program
into an executable file. It looks pretty complicated and would only be
worth the effort if you _must_ run your script this way and you
_can't_ install R.

Recently, the wonderful

Time-series moving average question
You are right that there are no NAs in the practice data. But there are NAs in the moving average data.
To see this, break your work into two separate steps, like this:
tnr.ma <- ma(dat3[1:28], order=3)
TNR_moving_average <- forecast(tnr.ma, h=8)
I think you will find that the warning comes from the second step.
Print tnr.ma and you will see some NAs.

Controller Methods gets called twice on single invocation
I have no idea why this is happening but it seems like every method on
my controller gets called twice. Here is what it looks like when I call
a list using the scaffold code

Storing and managing custom R functions for re-use
Dear all,
sorry if this is a bit on the sidetrack for R-help.
As a regular R user I have developed quite a lot of custom R functions,
to the point of not always remembering what I have already programmed,
where the file is and so on.
I was wondering what other people do in this regards. A basic file with
all your functions, or a custom R package, or directly integrated into a
profile file

Time-series moving average question
Hello Don, thank you for your response. I appreciate your help.
I am using the forecast package, originally I found it following a forecasting example on bloggers.com
https://www.r-bloggers.com/time-series-analysis-using-r-forecast-package/
And subsequently located the complete pdf https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/forecast/forecast.pdf
Since I created this practice data using the
