Incremental Backups
I read the following hint at:
http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots/#Incremental
mv backup.0 backup.1
rsync -a --delete --link-dest=../backup.1 source_directory/ backup.0/
I simply want to maintain a dated backup of a server so that I could
always go back to a certain date. I would like to keep this structure
for each day for the last seven days, then one weekly snapshot for

[LLVMdev] fink llvm-gcc42 test packaging
I've created fink packaging for a building the llvm
and llvm-gcc-4.2 svn pulls under fink on Mac OS X. Hopefully
the fink info script and patch should be clear enough for
some comments on my build approach. The llvm-gcc and llvm-g++
compilers seem okay so far. The llvm-gfortran compiler seems to
always spew a warning..

iTunes plugin help, please?
Hello,
I'm afraid this is a terribly noobish issue, but I can't figure out how to
install you FLAC/OGG plugin for iTunes. I read the ReadMe file that came
with the download, but it wasn't terribly specific on WHERE the file is
supposed to be copied in the library. I tried copying it to the
library/iTunes/Plugins folder, but nothing happened.
Could you please help me out with a

theora-mmx_on_win32?
Hi. Has anyone tried http://svn.xiph.org/branches/theora-mmx this code on Win32 ?
I can compile it with very small modification,

< ogg_int16_t *const temp= (ogg_int16_t*)align_tmp;
---
> ogg_int16_t *const temp= (int16_t*)align_tmp;
but outputs seem terribly broken. -> ex. http://mycomputer.cc/temp/mmx-out.ogg
GCC version is 3.4.2.
$ gcc --version
gcc.exe (GCC) 3.4.2

LLVM Stable
Hello fellow developers,
I wanted to follow a more up-to-date llvm version and saw the google/stable
branch that seems to be updated every two weeks or so. But it seems that
the last update of the google/stable branch is from 2016-08-15 [1].
Did it move to somwhere else and I am lookint at the wrong spot, or maybe
there is something terribly wrong with the current trunk?
Regards.

Mac OS X - xmms plugin probs
I'm making a Fink package for FLAC. It all builds fine except for the
xmms plugin. I'd use the pbproject, but fink users are likely to want
the xmms plugin which pbxbuild does not build. Also it seems the
pbproject does not build dynamic libraries.
I build with:
./configure --prefix=/sw --mandir=/sw/share/man
make
make install DESTDIR=/tmp (to simulate building into a deb file)

Just a minor point remark: IIUC, in SVN, the different subprojects are all part of the same repository,

[nbdkit PATCH] maint: Adjust cleaning rules
'make distcheck' calls us out for leaving files behind after
'make distclean' that were not present in the tarball. Either
these files are expensive enough that end users should not be
required to regenerate them (so they should be distributed),
or they should be cleaned when a user asks to get back to the
pristine tarball state.
Automake suggests this hierarchy of cleaning:

Globalize plugin, now I have two classes with the same name
Hi, newbie here.
I''m using the Globalize plugin, which defines a model with the same
name as one of my existing models. We both use a model called
Country. The Globalize Country model (within vendors/...) is wrapped
in module like this...
module Globalize
class Country < ActiveRecord::Base
...
end
end
And this is my Country model (within app/models)...

[LLVMdev] [Git-fu] How to commit inter-repositories atomically to svn
Sean Silva asked me, "How are you committing across both projects
simultaneously?"
For example, r167595.
http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project?view=rev&revision=167595
For the record, I introduce a how-to.
Yeah it's troublesome. I don't do usually.
[Prerequisites]
* subtree-merged git repo. https://github.com/chapuni/llvm-project
* Assume you are working on llvm-project.

Coercing Output from mget() into Proper Data Frame
Hello R-philes:
I have the following function that gets the output of mget() and
converts it to a data frame to return. What I am finding is that the
dimensions are wrong. Basically, I get:
