I have a linux server connecto into a 100mps LAN, i use iptables implementation of shorewall (shorewall.net) and then I used the wondershaper. When I adjusted the values below, I got a download speed for vsftp at a whooping 1187.91 KB/s but a upload speed is only a painful 27 KB/s. wonder shaper problems
I just installed Xandros 2.0 Desktop. I used apt-get to install iproute. I then downloaded wondershaper 1.1a from the website. I edited the script as the readme says. I went to console and started the wondershaper script...and i get the following error messages. RTNETLINK answers: Invalid Argument many times. Any ideas what is wrong? question about wonder shaper and htb
Greetings, My question deals with the htb version of wonder shaper. I used it for some time without much alteration except I noticed something odd in the way the rates are set up for the 3 htb classes. The way I understand it, there are 3 classes: 1:10 - high prio class with rate ${UPLINK}kbit 1:20 - bulk/default class with rate $[9*$UPLINK/10]kbit 1:30 - bulk/default low priority

Wonder Shaper
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 As stated by your message, I''ll try it again on the mailing list.. I tried your wondershaper today and there is one thing I am puzzling about. If I add port 80 and 21 like this NOPRIOPORTSRC=''80 21'' The uploads from my webserver and ftp server are a lot faster then without adding the ports and surfing the web is a pain. If

Wonder shaper wierdness.
I''m troubleshooting a modified version of the wondershaper and am encountering some trouble that I was hoping you could help me look into. I have 4 queues that I add traffic to: 1. VoIP phone stuff 2. ssh traffic 3. HTTP 4. everything else (should be default). Latency is definitely increased when I run it. I was trying the catch all rule (#4) and removed the specific rule for

Bandwidth shaper suggestion
Hello everyone, I'm looking for a bandwidth shaper that can limit downloads from certain IPs on a LAN. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of something that's easy to set up and configure. Even better if there's already a package that's on the CentOS repositories (or if not, maybe an RPM). Thanks and best regards, Matt -- Stand before it and there is no beginning. Follow it and

Linux Bridge + QoS Shaper HOWTO available
I''ve created a pretty complete HOWTO on creating a Linux Bridge (using Fedora) to shape LAN <--> WAN traffic. It includes installation instructions, a script to configure the bridge (which you install as a service), and 2 scripts to configure the network interfaces using traffic control. http://www.burnpc.com/website.nsf/all/3a64a6369757819686256f960068ad75!OpenDocument If

Network shaper for gateway with massive p2p traffic
Hi, I have made this script, that I use for controlling the bandwidth on a gateway for about 100 computers. It is working quite effectively to limit the use of p2p programs (and other programs), so that you can surf undisturbed. Also, it improves internet access in general, so that one large download doesn''t take up all your bandwidth. I was wondering if someone would like to test it,

making a traffic shaper for wireless users
Hello all, Im new using tc, ive been reading the howto at least 2 or 3 times, but there''s a lot information to aquire all of it quickly. I''ve installed a linux box as firewall for a wireless Network in a hotel, this box is a radius for the access points and it uses iptables to redirect and permit/deny the customers to use the net. So it uses iptables to count the bytes to
