Trying to do some very simple ingress limiting, no success
Hi, I am trying to do some simple ingress limiting based on fwmark. I know the ability and sense to do INGRESS limiting is ehm... limited ;-) but still I want to try it. I tried several things. === 1 === tcq ingress handle ffff: tcf parent ffff: protocol ip prio 1 handle 1 fw police rate 12mbit burst 10k drop tcf parent ffff: protocol ip prio 1 handle 2 fw police rate 10mbit burst 10k drop

RE: ntpd
Hi Nitin, First of all, you can verify that ntpd is responding on ingress with netcat : nc -u ingress 123 (udp connection on port 123) also try a netstat -an on ingress to be sure that the port 123 is in listen state... I recently install ntpdate, and it has worked as a client and a local ntp server immediatly. Good Luck, Yannick / Annecy in France -----Message d''origine----- De :

Routing/forwarding/shaping problems in v2.2.x (Long - sorry)
Greetings from a newbie! (Well, to this list anyway) I''m having a problem and I hope someone here might be able to help... I am strongly expecting an answer along the lines of "upgrade to v2.4.x", but I would REALLY preffer to avoid that for now... The setup: "Home brewed" v2.2.24 (will patch to v2.2.25 later today) with the DS8 patch applied. Currently

packet marking: only a ratio, not all
Hi all! In short: Anybody wrote a patch for DSMARK to make it capable of marking only a ratio (a given arg to the tc command) of the packets it gets? Say, 20%? Or, do I have to hack into the source? Alternatives, like a filter spitting packets to 2 different DSMARK based on this ratio? In long: I''m a hungarian univ student involved in a project (RMD-QoS stuff) which needs

Zebra, Routing ...
Before I start, I don''t want to do ECMP or simple bonding ... I have multiple Internet connections available to multiple boxes on one of my networks. Box A connects to ISPs 1, 2 and 3 Box B connects to ISPs 1 and 4 Boxes A and B are both connected to each other and the rest of the network. 1) I would like to set up some dynamic routing in such a way that any given outgoing packet from

NT coexistence scenario with kerberized SAMBA and MIT single-signon
Hello, thanks for the time to read this. I am doing a proof of concept in the following context. I have a NT 4.0 domain and because I don't want AD, I am moving towards a MIT Kerberos managed domain which still gives me SSO and thru kerberized SAMBA, file sharing. What I have setup so far is XP workstations SSO into the MIT Kerberos domain, I can access shares on the Samba server

Coexistence of zaphfc and hisax?
Hi, currently I got the following problem: The system contains a HFC-PCI card, it's running without problems under zaphfc. Now this system also should send/receive faxes. Receiving faxes works with rxfax (spandsp) but txfax is not comfortable enough and doesnt bring the demanded results. So an older external ISDN modem and mgetty-sendfax is used for sending faxes. I'd like to send the

Dovecot 1.2/2.0 coexistence guide?
I am running Dovecot 1.2.16 and considering moving up to 2.0.8. I have found <http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Upgrading/2.0> but there's not a lot about deploying a 2.0 server alongside an existing 1.2. Any hints on a seamless approach to this, especially one that might allow me to upgrade individual users in place, without moving their maildirs into a new tree and still avoid issues with

RHEL 8.8 sssd & winbind coexistence
Is it still considered best practice to uninstall sssd to ensure there are no conflicts with winbind? I ask because Red Hat is installing sssd by default even on a minimal install of RHEL 8.8 (may apply to earlier releases of RHEL 8). This caught me off guard as MINIMAL is supposed to mean something... ::sigh:: I only discovered this by accident when checking to ensure the /etc/nsswitch.conf

Remarking non conformant packets as AF13 from AF11
Hi, I am trying to implement a simple scaled-down version of the AF traffic class type. As such I basically want to remark non-conforming AF11 packets to AF13. Here is m script that I have been using on the ingress router of my network: ---------------------------------------- Link=''dev eth1'' Rate1=''rate 800Kbit'' Rate2=''rate 2500Kbit''
