gboxplot (JMP Diamond plot in R?)
I am looking to replicate the functionality of the JMP diamond plot in R. I have found the following enhancement and no other references(see below). I have tried to contact the author via email and I have had no luck. Does any know if this functionality exists in R? If it does not does anyone know how to contact the author of the enhancement request? "Hi, I experimented with a set of S

Leasing Address Space from the I* society (small s...aka the Big Lie Society) is not desirable by all people... 2. The IPv6 Privacy Problem...that is especially important in the area of computer

home directory mapping can cause strange Windows errors
I've just spent several hours trying to solve "an unexpected error occurred" while I was accessing my Local Area Connection properties on a Windows 2000 machine. I'm sending this message as penance for blaming Samba. The "an unexpected error occurred" message came up everytime I tried to view the properties of my Local Area Connection but there were other problems

dealing with a messy dataset
Is this a fixed width format? If so, read.fwf() in base, or read_fwf() in the readr package will solve the problem. You may need to trim trailing spaces though. Issues with Wine and Star Wars Galaxies
Having some issues getting Galaxies to launch, I can get other programs within Wine to launch like tvants and other basic programs. I'm using Wine 1.1.7 on Mac OSX 10.5.6 with X11 updated to 2.3.3 and Darwine 1.1.9. When I got to launch Galaxies all I get is a terminal page full of errors. I notice Wine is deferring a lot dlls and I don't know if this is the cause of it or not. It also

Star Wars Galaxies with wine-0.9.59 (puppy 3.01)
Has anyone had any luck running Star Wars Galaxies with Wine 0.9.59? Also for those not familiar with Puppy it's built on a Slackware 12 foundation. So I start off with just that, the Slackware version of wine. I've also made sure i have all the required and recommended libraries. I have for quite a while had a problem getting gecko installed. but have since downloaded the .cab file to

dealing with a messy dataset
dear R-users, I am facing a quite regular and basic problem when it comes to dealing with datasets, but I cannot find any satisfying answer so far. I have a messy dataset of galaxies like that : And XVIII 000214.5+450520 0.69 17 9 0.00 -8.7 26.8 6.44 6.78 < 6.65 -44 0.5 MESSIER031 0.6 1.54 PAndAS-03 000356.4+405319 0.10 17 0.00 -3.6 27.8 4.38
