exclude internal network from wondershaper
I''m having a network inside of a dsl modem and I''m using wondershaper on
the computers to be able to surf while bulk downloading. The problem is
that also the internal traffic is shaped, which means the internal
network is at 200kb/s, instead of 100Mb/s. Is there a way to exclude the
internal adresses from the wondershaper rules, or is there any other
good way to solve this?

routing tables help
Hi
I''m wondering if I could get some help setting up the routing tables in my
ionteranl system. I''ve read what I have found about this, but I''m not
getting any wiser...
This is my network at home:
Internet <-- DSL modem <--- Internet router (192.168.0.1)
<--- eth1 (192.168.0.99) Linux server eth0 (192.168.1.122)
---> Workstation (192.168.1.22)

Bandwith thinking error
Hi,
I found that I had some thinking error with the wshaper script. I assigned
the bandwith of my DSL connection to it, but the machine where it runs is
normally connected to the LAN with 100Mbit behind a separate
Hardware-Router.Obviously, the complete connection of the machine was slowed down to 384k
because I told it so.I guess, since wshaper takes only one card as argument, I can''t

Wondershaper breaks IPSec tunnels

Hello, been awhile since I''ve written.
I now have a situation where I get to use traffic shaping for a client.
~ We implemented the WonderShaper script on our own firewall and
experienced no problems. I made some modifications to it to add IPSec
protocol packets into the 1:10 high priority class using the u32 filter.

Fw: wondershaper kills eth0 :(
Hi,
When i do ''wshaper start'' the interface i have defined stops routing
traffic for some reason. It resumes routing when i do ''wshaper stop''.
I''m using debian stable (3.0 woody) with debian''s default 2.4.18-686
kernel.
When I run the script I get no errors, and when I do a ''status'',
everything looks correct.

wondershaper htb P2P downloads
Sir,
Thanks for the wondershaper utility!
It has improved the response time for my ssh connections to my home
server whenever i need to access it from the Internet.
However, is there a way to setup a bandwidth, say 10kbits/sec (i only
have 128kbits/sec DSL), and assign it to a particular traffic type like
kazaa and other P2P file-sharing?
This way it will guarantee that my home users of

wondershaper htb + multiple ports
Is there a way to apply wondershaper w/ htb to a port range?
I have a ftp server on port 65432 and passive ports 50000-60000.
Is there a way to set a range? or do they have to be individually
listed?
The following doesnt seem to work:
# low priority source ports
NOPRIOPORTSRC=65432, 50000:60000
# low priority destination ports
NOPRIOPORTDST=

Download and upload independency
Hello everyone:
As it is known, when you limit uplink bandwidth it usually gets downlink
bandwidth to a lower value.
I just want to know what is the optimal configuration for eth1 and imq0
according to some variables of tc(HTB), txqueuelen, mtu, etc. to make
these packet flows less independent on an ethernet based network.
Thank you in advance.

shape outgoing/upload traffic PER-IP.
does anyone know a way to shape outgoing/upload traffic per ip?
I have a network and i want to limit the upload with 100kbit per user. Ex:
192.168.1.20 ----> 1024kbit-DOWN / 100kbit-UP
192.168.1.21 ----> 1024kbit-DOWN / 100kbit-UP
and so on.......
Ive tried CBQ and HTB, but couldnt get is right. the only thing that I did in upload bases was:
"tc qdisc add dev ppp0 root tbf rate

wondershaper, host *exclusion*?
Hi,
I really like the wondershaper script, it works very well for me. My
question is this. Is there a way to get certain remote hosts to be
excluded from the shaping? I ask because I don''t have my box connected
directly through the net. It sits behind a nat device, and has ports
forwarded in for services. I''d like to limit the ports and services, but
only to things going outside

RE: CBQ-wondershaper superior over HTB-wondershaper?
Hello Thilo,
What did you find superior with CBQ-wondershaper over HTB-wondershaper? We have not been using wondershaper specifically but our simple tests so far seem to show that htb is much easier to configure for a given target shape (i.,e accurate) compared to CBQ.

wondershaper
Hi,
I just installed wondershapper 1.1a on my ipcop firewall box. I have
roadrunner cable with a ftp server setup. My download speed is 2mbit (I get
225 KBytes) and my upload is 384kbit (I send at 43 KBytes).
What should the settings in wshaper?
I can ping yahoo.com at 90msec with little traffic.....and at around 220msec
with full upload traffic.

WonderShaper on LAN link kills to-host speed
I tried installing the WonderShaper on my internal link, mostly to get the
SFQ installed. I set uplink and downlink to 100000 to match the link speed
and changed the bandwidth on the cbq line to 100mbit. This killed transfer
speed *to* the box, knocking it from 30-40 Mbps down to about 800 kbps.
Commenting out just the ingress control restored the speed.
What about the ingress policer would do

Wondershaper
Hi !
I´ve been using the wonderful wondershaper from chapter 15.8 of the
LARTC Howto for some time. It´s really wonderful.
Actually, I use the version from
http://freshmeat.net/projects/wshaper/?topic_id=87
Now I tried to put some hosts to low priority, and it doesn´t work. The
traffic is splitted equally between the noprio and the other hosts.
Is this because I use ip masquerading, and all
