HTB: 3. Sharing hierarchy
On http://luxik.cdi.cz/~devik/qos/htb/manual/userg.htm...
There is a nice explanation on how/why to setup a hierarchy with HTB.
Howerver what is missing is how to setup finters for this case?
I had this working when I was using a seperat qdisc for each ?layer?,
making each HTB only one level deep. Described in the attached
qdisc.sh.GOOD.
Described in the attached qdisc.sh is my current script,

dropping id3 support
ah. I was only talking about removing support in the winamp2
and xmms plugins. the decoder libraries will still be able to
skip over/ignore id3 tags as before. I think AudioReQuest and
PhatNoise must be using their own code to read id3 tags, which
won't be affected.

Problem : 5 Public IP Address
Hi,
I am having problem in getting my fw to connect to the
net, I had set allow fw net in the policy.
I suspect maybe shorewall having problem because I
have 5 public IP alias to my fw, which is eth0,
eth0:1-eth0:4. Because before I add more ip to this
interface my fw able to connect to the net.
How can I set one IP to be bind to this fw, or I had
to change the rules from fw to fw:w.x.y.z?

Is it possible to use the default Linux mouse pointer
in your Wine app instead
of that ugly white mouse pointer?

rsync through high latency connection
Hi,
I have a high latency, but relatively high bandwidth (1.5 Mbps) connection that
I'm trying to rsync through. I noticed in the feature list that rsync
pipelines file transfers to minimize latency - does this only affect transfer
of large numbers of files?
Are there configuration steps that I can use to improve throughput? For
example, is it possible to set the TCP window size to a

wcusb dialing problem and line noise
i'm having problems with s100u (wcusb) on Via EPIA-V-8000
running RedHat Linux 9 (2.4.20-31.9). when i try to dial,
asterisk won't respond (still hear dialtone) or get a fast busy.
seldom asterisk would process the dialed number. i was able to
dial to echo test and i noticed that the line is noisy (like
chirping).
anyone encounter this? i have no other s100u to check if this is

Newbie physical layout question
Sorry for the very newbie-like question. I have the
FXS part straight. The part I don't understand is the
FX0 part. Will I need the FX0 card if I am connecting
to a service like FWD? My goal is to get rid of my
phone line all together. I am under the impression I
will only need an FX0 if I'm connecting to the central
office side of the phone connection or to an existing
PBX. Bottom

more verbose debugging with test45
Greetings-
Is there any way to increase the logging output
of dovecot ?
I've set auth_verbose and auth_debug = yes
The only output is a single line to syslog mail.info:
Sep 23 09:01:54 server dovecot: pop3-login: Login: me [ip.is.here.00]
test45 doesn't appear to have the --rawlog configuration option
There is nothing written to ~/dovecot.rawlog
Tried setting ~/dovecot.rawlog mode

Error make_server_info_info3: pdb_init_sam failed!
Hi,
Not sure whether you have resolved it. Hope it may help...
I got same problem with the following error mesg (on Fedora/Linux)
smbd[7287]: [2004/07/14 19:45:42, 0] auth/auth_util.c:make_server_info_info3(1100)
smbd[7287]: make_server_info_info3: pdb_init_sam failed!
In my case, check "use ldap" using authconfig. or enable it manually in /etc/nsswitch.conf
will resolve the issue.

NT PDC file server -> Samba PDC file server
I've read the HOWTO and seen a zillion articles about
moving from an NT PDC to a Samba PDC. Am having
trouble tying this in to making the new Samba PDC
act in the same file server capacity as the NT machine
did. i.e., looking for info on copying the
directories & files while preserving user & group
permissions.
Can someone point me to a guide(s) on this whole
process? Also, in what

Newbie - Voicemail Password Help
Hello All.
I'm just beginning with Asterisk and I have it all working now. I'm using
Asterisk 1.0 RC1.
My only question is this; when I check my voice mail the PBX simply says
"password". I wanted to make it say "please enter your voice mail password" so
I am using Background(pls-enter-vm-password).
However now I hear "Please enter your voice mail password

Hello,
it seems that 'guest account' can't be defined in a
service anymore. As far as i can tell the manual
states it should work though. Am i doing something
wrong here? (i upgraded from samba 2 to 3).
I would like to be able to get access to certain
shares using a particular user, so all rights are o.k.
(and i need 2 different users for different services,

U32 filters in htb.init?
I want to use a filter to shape outbound traffic (upload from the
client side) in eth0.
Manually I should do this by doing something like this:
tc filter add dev eth0 parent 1:0 protocol ip prio 100 u32 match ip
src 192.168.0.50 classid 1:59
How can I do this with HTB.init?

libtool "missing sed" bug
I am putting the finishing touches on the next release. I got
everything mostly working with the latest autotools, but I've
noticed that the generated libtool after configure does not
have $SED defined. searching around it seems to be a common problem.
I thought as a simple workaround that I would just distribute a
libtool script that sets $SED to 'sed' (expecting it to be in the
