htb: class 10007 isn''t work conserving ?!
I''m getting the following error/warning at some point in my config
script, and I''m not sure which class it is referring to.
htb: class 10007 isn''t work conserving ?!
I [think I] understand that htb is a non-work-conserving qdisc, and I
[think I] have configured things so that every htb qdisc I instantiate
limits the bandwidth, so I don''t understand why this

network scripts debian
Working at setting up some new firewalls with multi-path routing over 2
isps. Doing it with debian sarge.
Problem is the normal network scripts use ifconfig and route.
In my tests I did a simple setup script.
Feel like I am reinventing the wheel :-)
Is it OK to use the network scripts to setup the interface and then
remove the routes ifconfig created and add any needed routes with ip

load balancing

i was reading the howto, and the part about load balancing talk about to
providers, well i have one provider and make to dial-modem conection, so i
have the same gateway in both (ppp0 and ppp1) but to diferent IP.
what do i have to do?
just set up the default route to be a multipath route?
or do i need to split the access?

Problem with multiple N/W cards
Hi,
I am trying to set up a linux box with 5 N/W cards of which one is
10/100/1000T and the others are 10/100T. I connected all the cards and
turned on the machine. I wanted to force eth0 to be the 1000T cards but
the cards get allotted eth0 to eth4 randomly. Is there some way wherein I
can force my 1000T card to be eth0.
Also I want to turn off auto negotation & flow control on the 1000T

tutorial for Julian Anastasov''s patches
I''m sure that I had found (and printed out ...) a really good tutorial
that explain how to use Julian Anastasov''s routing patch, but I can''t
seem to find it now.
Any pointers?

Local Filesystem Access
Is it possible for processes on a glusterfs server to read and write to
files that are exported, like with NFS.
And if so how does this affect replication?
Thanks.

drawing a line indicating extent of each factored data series in multipanel lattice xyplot
Hi,
Am am plotting aggregated frequency data (extracted from an RDBMS)
relating to DNA sequence features for each of the human chromosomes as
described in the table chromosomes below (the frequency data is in a
table 'hits' that has a value (or not) for each of a set of bins across
each chromosome).
I would like to mark the extent of the chromosome (according to the

How can I avoid a for-loop through sapply or lapply ?

Minicom and Ncurses
Hi,
I have to do some maintenance on a CentOS 7 proxy installed on a routerboard
without a video card. The only way to access this machine directly is via
Minicom and serial port.
I'm using NetworkManager TUI (nmtui) to configure network interfaces, but
Ncurses rendering in Minicom works in the sense that chickens fly and horses
swim. What you get is a forest of question marks with a few

I don''t know what I would do to try to reproduce this condition; it only
appeared once.
tcp_input.c sounds deep enough to scare me off from looking

Pictures of the Digium booth at ISPCon 2005
Hello everyone,
Even though a lot of it was a bit last minute, several of us from the
commnunity made it to Baltimore to help Digium with their booth at
ISPCon. It was a great time.
Gregory Boehnlein, Brian Capouch, Christian Savinovich, Kristian
Kielhofner (me), and John Todd (not pictured) were there (as well as
others), and some pictures were taken (the up close ones of me were very

GO & Protein Complex Analysis for Homo sapiens
Dear All,
I need to fetch GO ontologies for Homo sapiens with their mappings to
corresponding Uniprot identifiers. I would be using this information to
compare result from a clustering algorithm with existing protein complexes.
This would be a test to check how the clustering algorithm accurately
captures GO terms with respect to the known protein complexes. Can anyone
suggest a simple workflow

list archive anomaly
At the list archive page (http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/) there
is an amazing message from the future: the year 2032 (q1).
Not that I know anything about mailman, but someone might want to
"maintain" that.

X100P in a soekris 4801
Hi All,
I have a Soekris 4801 running Asterisk and I tried to add a X100P FXO
card only to find that the Soekris will not boot with the card
installed. The LEDs flash for a second and then nothing, it does not
boot. I've tried 2 different X100p cards, both of which work in a
regular desktop system, and still have no luck. I tried a different
