Don''t know how to compile tc
I am trying to build iproute2-2.4.7-20010824 from source on a 2.4.24 kernel. I have played a bit with ADDLIB and LDLIBS variables but I always get errors so I suppose it''s best if instead of playing I try to understand what does the following mean (from the README file): ADDLIB should contain inet_* functions, if your libc contains obsolete resolver library (<4.9.4) and you have no

iproute2 tool compiling problems.
Hi all. This is my first msg in this list, and I´d appreciate any help you could give me. I already compiled the kernel with the options to run iproute2 tools. But, when I download the iproute2-2.4.7-now-ss010824.tar.gz file from ftp://ftp.inr.ac.ru/ip-routing/ and try to compile it, I got too many errors. Here goes the output: server:/home/nathan/iproute2# make make[1]: Entering

Re: [LARTC} how can I compile tc
Ok, I tried it out but for some reason it doesn''t take for the compile process. This is, after export KERNEL_INCLUDE=/usr/src/linux/include/ if I run export this declare -x KERNEL_INCLUDE="/usr/src/linux/include/" is there. But when I run make in iproute2 I still get the /usr/include/linux/ip.h:93:2: error: #error "Endian problem - this didn''t happen"

error: structure has no member named `rate''
I want to take the functionality that I found sitting in linux-2.6.8-rc2/net/sched/sch_netem.c for a test drive but I found that the /sbin/tc that I have does not have the necessary knobs. So I grabbed iproute2-2.6.X-ss040702.tar.gz and tried to build it, but I got this: q_netem.c: In function `netem_parse_opt'': q_netem.c:90: error: structure has no member named `rate''

[ANNOUCE] iproute2 update
A new version of the iproute2 utilities is available to handle the new extensions for 2.6.7. * Based on the last known good version of iproute2 from Alexy * Included most of the vendor patches (except for the stupid ones). * Got rid of lots of the glibc workarounds, I intend this to build and run on 2.6 (and 2.4) only. * Fixed some parsing and formatting bugs. * Added gigabit as a rate.

The latest iproute2 software on its site ftp://ftp.inr.ac.ru/ip-routing/ is from 2002 iproute2-2.4.7-now-ss020116-try and even that is marked with "try" ... since then we''ve seen a lot of patches for it, some solving bugs some adding support for HTB, esfq, hfsc, wirr etc. I think, someone mentioned on this list that he has collected all the patches and updates for iproute2 ...
