Adding dsmark qdisc fails
I''m trying to configure dsmark qdisc on 2.6.11.4 user mode linux and tc from iproute2-2.6.11-050314. I think I have some mismatch in my setup since adding dsmark qdisc fails *unless* I specify "set_tc_index" argument which I believe should be optional: # tc qdisc add dev eth1 handle 1:0 root dsmark indices 8 RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument Mar 20 13:00:50 user user.debug

Qdisc statistics project
As a necessety for my job is to real-time monitor the bytes, packets, packet dropped etc of all the qdiscs working inside the kernel i''ve tried varius methods: 1. Parse tc -s command output and update a round robin database and use rrdtool to graphically display tc statistics. [varius perl scripts exist for the above job] 2. Unsuccesfully tried QoS SNMP extensions, in order to use a

newton.method
Hi, Is this method broken in R? I am using it to find roots of the following function: f(x) = 2.5*exp(-0.5*(2*0.045 - x)) + 2.5*exp(-0.045) + 2.5*exp(-1.5*x) - 100 It is giving an answer of -38.4762403 which is not even close (f(x) = 2.903809e+25 for x=-38.4762403). The answer should be around 0.01-0.1. This function should converge.. Even for a simple function like f(x) = exp(-x) * x, it gives

[PATCH] virtio_console: move early VQ enablement
Commit f5866db6 (virtio_console: enable VQs early) tried to make sure that DRIVER_OK was set when virtio_console started using its virtqueues. Doing this in add_port(), however, means that we try to set DRIVER_OK again when when a port is dynamically added after the probe function is done. Let's move virtio_device_ready() to the probe function just before trying to use the virtqueues instead.

HTB theory?
Hello, I have been searching for HTB theory documentation and found two interesting sources - Devik''s page and docum.org FAQ. In some places they are contradictory which make me think that Devik''s theoretic document (marked "actual") is just too old and does not reflect the latest changes. After reading http://www.docum.org/docum.org/faq/cache/30.html and others, I

They''re killing me (the spammers)
Yes, last night it was 4Mbps the rate of incoming mails. I was wondering if I apply HTB to the following scheme: router -> gw-iface -> MX-server If HTB (new verb) the interface that communicates with MX, say, 2mbit, what will occur to the Input queue of gw-router-iface? Will I still get the link full for 4mbit or will it get lower to 2mbit too, as the inner interface? Appreciate

tc filter change/replace
I am wondering whether the commands ''tc filter change'' and ''tc filter replace'' are working. Googling around revealed a few emails on the LARTC stating that unfoirtunately they do not work. A quick check showed that they are still not implemented (properly). Some propose a solution to build a second tree of filters and apply the 2nd one when a need for it
