RFC - bandwidth optimization idea
I''m interested in all of - opinions about why this is a good or bad idea - pointers to similar proposals or products that already exist - implementation suggestions This is meant for real time applications that have small available bandwidth and so they have to consider carefully what''s the best way to use that bandwidth. I imagine that things happen that cause them to

Default source address
Hi, I''m using vpnc to connect to a vpn. The VPN-GW wants me to use him as a default route. So I used source-routing to differ between my physical ethernet and the tunnel: ip rule add from w.x.y.z table 20 ip route add default via tun0 table 20 Everything works fine, as I have a client to set my inet4-srcaddress. My question is: Is there a way, to tell linux which is my default

[RFC PATCH 0/4] Inter-guest virtio I/O example with lguest
Hi all, Just finished my prototype of inter-guest virtio, using networking as an example. Each guest mmaps the other's address space and uses a FIFO for notifications. There are two issues with this approach. The first is that neither guest can change its mappings. See patch 1. The second is that our feature configuration is "host presents, guest chooses" which breaks

I recently did a backport of a couple of networking bug fixes from s10x_u4_b6 to s10x_u3_b10. I patched just /platform/i86pc/kernel/unix and /platform/i86pc/kernel/amd64/unix in my existing u3 OS image and I''m seeing this dtrace problem when running any dtrace script: NODE hcb101 ~ $ ./tcpstat.sh dtrace: failed to compile script /dev/fd/10: "/usr/lib/dtrace/procfs.d", line

reshape (a better way)
Hi, I am using the NLSY79 data (longitudinal data from the Bureau of labour stats in the US). The extractor exctracts this data in a "wide" format and I need to reshape it into a long format. PXE -> tftp -> WinPE vs NForce 4
Hi The setup, as in the subject, is supposed to boot a Winpe to install xp to a clean PC. I use the Ramdisk method (ie PXELinux pases the setup on to the M$ pxe loader and and boots WinPE) It works perfectly with evry other chipset, but Nvidias NForce 4.
