max latency with htb and wondershaper for voip and p2p
Hi I''m actually using a wondershaper derived script. The problem I have is that when I ping (ping is in high priority queue) the ping time is not as low as I expected with p2p running: 760 packets transmitted, 760 received, 0% packet loss, time 759695ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 39.667/62.863/598.539/33.287 ms, pipe 2 With voip, it is much better with the qos but it is still a little

tc class show problem with HTB ?
Hi! I''m using 2.4.17 + htb2_2.4.16.diff now. But I found the tc class show command won''t show the correct infomation like before... I got something like: # tc -s -d class show dev eth0 class htb 1: parent 1: class htb 1: parent 1: class htb 1: parent 1: class htb 1: parent 1: class htb 1: parent 1: class htb 1: parent 1: class htb 1: parent 1: # tc -s qdisc

A HTB problem
My hardware is a Linksys AP with MIPS 300MHz and Linux kernel 2.4.20. The traffics are from two LAN switch ports to WAN port. And the traffics are generate at a rate of 80Mbit. So the total traffic to WAN port is 160Mbit. The shaping works well that the traffic to WAN port is about 50/30Mbit according to configuration. But the priority seems strange when the root rate is 50Mbit. When the root

HTB problem running on VLAN, not working
Hello. I''m running linux box with Slackware 9.1 and compiled kernel 2.4.31 with "yes" to VLANs and "yes" to all QoS. On this box i have more ethernet interfaces: eth0 eth1 eth2 and so as more vlan interfaces: eth0.100 eth1.3 eth1.4 This is entrace(uplink) router to our whole network and my goal is to shape users on this machine. I want for this purpose use HTB so

htb root don''t reach ceil rate?
Hello, i have a htb setup where the root and (nearly) all child classes has a ceil rate with max up from my adsl line. But the root class don''t reach the ceil value but some childs are get a huge backlog. My setup: (tc -d class show dev ppp0) [cleaned a bit] ******************************************************** class htb 1:1 root rate 576000bit ceil 576000bit burst 30Kb/8 cburst

Determining burst/cburst HTB values
Hello. I am wondering if the default (auto-computed) burst and cburst parameters are appropriate values for my application. I have a 100 mbit interface which is connected to a 16 mbit uplink. I am sharing this bandwidth into a set of partitions (tc classes) defined as follows: root class [1:1] |

HTB/IMQ troubles (probably)
Hello, I use HTB with linux-2.4.20-ac1 and iptables-1.2.7a (pathced for IMQ). I configured one HTB qdisc on an IMQ device. This qdisc has some classes (about 5) and all of the classes has qdisc pfifo. I sometimes got out from my linux (while I was working) and I found in logs: Dec 4 11:49:27 core kernel: HTB init, kernel part version 3.7 Dec 4 11:49:28 core kernel: HTB: quantum of class

PRIO qdisc with HTB
Hi, I''m trying to use prio qdisc with htb, however not the "usual" way (like for example FairNAT). Here is my idea: Root has HTB shaping traffic to link speed -> then goes PRIO queues -> each prio queue has HTB with sublasses for each user, should look like this: 1: htb qdisc | 1:1 htb class

HTB and iptables statistics
Hello. The problems are: 1. Using HTB I get negative values for tokens and ctokens in tc -s output, for example: mich:~# tc -s -d class show dev eth0 class htb 1:11 parent 1:1 prio 1 quantum 1024 rate 8Kbit ceil 23Kbit burst 1609b/8 mpu 0b cburst 1628b/8 mpu 0b level 0 Sent 0 bytes 0 pkts (dropped 0, overlimits 0) lended: 0 borrowed: 0 giants: 0 tokens: 1287999 ctokens: 453286 class htb 1:1

dosattr tool
Greetings. I have written a small tool called dosattr that might be very useful for samba administrators. It makes manipulation of DOS attributes stored in user.DOSATTRIB more convenient than get/setfattr(1). Check it out, it is available at http://stlman.fm.interia.pl/dosattr/ Please CC any replies, I am not a subscriber -- Best regards, >?ukasz<

Problem with HTB and IPTABLES
Dear All, I’m working with Fedora Core 3, kernel 2.9.1, MPLS-for-Linux-4.193, and having some problems when create a HTB queue. ALL packets goes to the default queue, they don’t care about any mark or ip field I use to enqueue them. : -/ That’s the deal, all packets that incoming the interface eth2 are classified and have theirs TOS field changed following some qos policy at the PREROUTING

HTB statistics
Hi, there is something I''m not able to understand about HTB statistics. Why the qdisc show show how many packets are overlimits but in the classes there are always 0 packets overlimits or dropped? I try to expain with a simple example. I create a qdisc htb with only a class and then i do a lot of traffic. pc-innocenti:~# tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent root handle 1: htb default 10

HTB not shaping traffic
I cannot get HTB to function properly. Most classes transmit more than their ceiling, more than any reasonable burst would allow. I have reviewed my script several times but I can''t find anything out of place. The setup is as standard as it gets: one HTB root qdisc, a small tree of HTB classes, one SFQ qdisc for each leaf HTB class. To illustrate the problem, here is non-leaf HTB

Question on FW and htb
Hi, I''ve try to use htb to limit outgoing traffic but it seems that it doesn''t work. I guess the probem is the filter. Here is my script. #!/bin/sh echo "Add root qdisc, default traffic go to 1:30" tc qdisc add dev eth1 root handle 1: htb default 30 tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100mbit burst 15k tc class add dev eth1 parent 1:1 classid 1:10

htb limiting trouble: no overlimit or dropped packets
Hi! I''m trying to limit the uplink bandwidth using htb but no packets are overlimit or dropped. :-( My router config: * Linux kernel 2.4.20-pre10 (htb v3.7) with everything built as modules in QoS, iptables in use. * tc binary from htb3.6-020525.tgz * external interface eth0: Internet access, 512 kbit/s uplink speed * internal interface eth1: internal LAN, 100 Mbit/s The hosts in the
