Virgin Radio Classic Rock now in Ogg too
Firstly, please excuse the crosspost to both the icecast and vorbis lists, and the slightly commercial nature of this post. Virgin Radio Classic Rock, which is a sister station to Virgin Radio, is now also available in streaming Ogg Vorbis. We also have 'now playing' information working on both services. DB: class to multiple rows mapping (aka rails 'osproperty')
Hi, Has anyone implemented some sort of automatic class to dynamic table mapping ? The idea is to have a single table capable of storing various unrelated classes. Some sort of Extreme polymorphism. I''ve used this with other languages. E.g. osproperty in Java. The idea is the following In the DB create table dynamicobjects ( id int, object_type varchar(255), key_name

"dovecot virgin": 1st questions ...
hi all, "uncle"! i've thrown up my hands with cyrus, and am looking for a 'better alternative' ... i'm brand new to dovecot (haven't even built it yet ...), and have spent the last while reading through the LIST archives here. apart from the TECHNICAL aspects, which seem _more_ than adequate/competitive, i'm most attracted by a comment abt this

OT: Accountless, free, skinnable, browser based SIP client wanted
I have a client that wants to put a phone on their web page for customers to call them via their Asterisk server. ) A keypad is needed to enter credit card details. ) "Speed dial" buttons like "Tech Support," "Sales," etc. are a requirement. Actually, passing the SIP address in the HTTP link would work with a bit of arm twisting. ) Free is preferred, but not a

"virgin" mail accounts
Hello, I'm willing to swear that with the 0.99.10.4 Debian package in my rather extensive tests with mailbox format dovecot created not only any missing parental directories but also the INBOX file, but the later I can't prove/test now as I upgraded all respective boxes. However 0.99.10.5 will still create (if needed and possible) missing directories for mbox storage, just not an

Virgin Radio now on ices2 - yp not working though
This afternoon I've transferred our Ogg Vorbis Icecast2 streams from darkice to the ices2 encoder. Apologies if you were trying to listen; I had to stop and start the streams a few times. They should be stable now as I'm off down the pub now! As a reminder, the URL for the streams is at http://www.virginradio.co.uk/thestation/listen/ogg.html. Ices2 takes slightly different parameters to

Virgin Radio launches an Ogg stream
Apologies if this is a bit of a commercial post (I've not been lurking long), but you might like to know that the world's most listened-to online radio station has just launched an Ogg stream. (As of today!) http://www.virginradio.co.uk/thestation/listen/ogg.html (or alternatively www.virginradio.co.uk/thestation/listen from a non MSIE+PC browser). Any ideas you have to help promote this

Hang up detection with TDM400P and Telewest/Virgin Media line
Folks, I've seen a few reports that people have had problems with hang up detection on UK cable phone lines. I have a TDM400P with two FXO ports, one connected to my BT line and the other connected to my Telewest/Virgin Media cable line. If I ring the BT line and then clear down, Asterisk detects this and acts accordingly. If I ring the Telewest line, the clear down is not detected, hence

Hi List, FYI. We have been using CentOS 6.4 and have 2 vpn/gre tunnels to separate cisco rtrs using ospf. with kernel 2.6.32-358.23.2 We have upgraded to 6.5 bit using kernel 2.6.32-431.5.1 and the exact same configuration scripts for our vpn/gre tunnels. WinAmp3 & Icecast2 compatibility?
Hello folks I'm having trouble playing ogg streams with WinAmp3. I run Icecast2 & Ices2 (both compiled from CVS about two weeks ago) on a Linux box, the files being streamed were encoded with oggenc (from oggutils1.0, managed 80kbitrate...) The problem is that WinAmp3 won't actually play the .ogg stream. When I give it the URL (http://myserver:8000/mount.ogg) it says

Samba4 / Open LDAP init DB
Hi, I have been able to successfully install Samba4 and OpenLDAP and connect them via SSL. The file samba.schema is also loaded into OpenLDAP, but when I start samba server it looks like it is expecting some basic structure. My Question at this point is how to provide this the easisest way? Currently the OpenLDAP DB is entirely empty (virgin) so Samba4 could create anything it needs. cat

git public web frontends
Hello, Set up a CentOS 7.5 VM linode for git now that github has been bought. I'm not anti-microsoft but I'm worried they will make changes that I don't like (e.g. requiring ms account, changing billing, etc.) so I figured better take control now. Currently moving my private repos and have them set up in my home directory there, but my public repos - I want to set them up with a
