Testers needed for VoIP router solution
Hi all, We have put together a firmware for a range of inexpensive routers. It has been configured to provide optimum VoIP performance. We have internally tested it for number of months and it looks very good. You should be able to run it easily with 20+ phones on local network ( we still did not hit the upper limit ) assuming that you have bandwidth. Your VoIP will get prioritized over other

two NICs on the same subnet
What are the reasons that two NICs on the same computer are set to the same subnet? i.e. eth0 IP addresses is x.y.z.m and eth1 is x.y.z.n. Any websites describing these in details? http://lartc.org/lartc.html#LARTC.RPDB.MULTIPLE-LINKS "4.2. Routing for multiple uplinks/providers" have two cases (Split access and Load balancing) for two or more internet connections on the same computer

the routing cache and route selection; is this correct?
Hello all, I do not read C very well (especially kernel C). Though I have tried to muddle my way through an understanding of what''s going on in fib_hash.c, fib_rules.c, and route.c, I have not succeeded to my satisfaction, hence my post. I''m trying to document the general process of route selection, and have come up with the following overview. Could somebody point out any

Question regarding Split Access description
Hi All, I''m a big user of the LARTC document but am currently stuck with a question around section 4.2 (http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html) in relation to "Routing for multiple uplinks/providers". I''m wanting to do a similar setup to the diagram where I have - lets just say for the moment - two uplink providers where I want to route over two

Newbie question - RPDB, policy routing etc...
Hello all, I am going through the LARTC howto to understand how the iproute2 works. But some concepts like Policy Routing, RPDB etc are not clear to me. I am pretty new to iproute, beeing using route command for long... From what I understand 1. rules (ip rule) tell how to select packets for routing and route (ip route) tell where to route the selected packets. 2. A collection of rules is

openwrt wrt54gs running asterisk/pap2
I have asterisk running in a wrt54gs attached is a pap2 with 2 extensions working on it, the problem now is that there is lots of echo, some rythm in the background, and the voice is delayed by about 4 or 5 sec's between the 2 extensions. memory usage is about 15 to 20 megs so I think I can solve the problem with correct settings, anyone know where I might start to correct these issues

Interface bound routing
Hi, I''m sorry for "novice"-level question, but I hope your expert advice will save me many painful hours running after my own tail... Let assume I have Linux box with eth0, eth1 and eth2 interfaces. Each one has IP assigned from different network. By default, IP address associated with eth0 is chosen as default routing. My application creates thee TCP sockets and explicitly

Routing for multiple uplinks and SNAT to 2 source IPs
Hi, I configured a router box to use 2 providers, as described in the HOWTO. (Apendix 1) I want to use both links to reach a single smtp server. As I read in the kptd and in some old messages of this list, doing a SNAT in the postrouting chain comes _after_ the routing desision. So I guess the following lines I''m trying to use are wrong. (See Apendix 1) What can I do to have multiple

routing for multiple uplinks + DNAT (LVS in my case)
Hi. Contents: 1) Introduction 2) 2 Questions * Introduction: I used this HOWTO to use multiple providers. http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html The box is a load balancer, using the Linux Virtual Server. We have a problem with lost connections, and it seems you get issues when you combine this setup with DNAT [1]. The proposed solution [1] is to use these rules to mark

Pictures of the Digium booth at ISPCon 2005
Hello everyone, Even though a lot of it was a bit last minute, several of us from the commnunity made it to Baltimore to help Digium with their booth at ISPCon. It was a great time. Gregory Boehnlein, Brian Capouch, Christian Savinovich, Kristian Kielhofner (me), and John Todd (not pictured) were there (as well as others), and some pictures were taken (the up close ones of me were very

T.38 SIP Issues
Is there any trick to getting T.38 fax to work with SIP? I had it working and one day with no changes *poof* it stopped working and hasn't worked for months. The only common factor is Asterisk 1.4.x (always try to use the latest version) and NAT. I've tried: -Linksys ATA -Grandstream ATA -Audicodes ATA All do the same thing. Call connects, hear the first 2sec of fax tone and then just
