open_id_authentication - authenticate_with_open_id
I''m using the open_id_authentication plugin just like the README
says. However, when I submit my openid_url, the
authenticate_with_open_id method gives me the error below.

[BUG?] image_tag
i''ve got the latest ruby and rails on this box and am seeing that image_tag
will turn something like
/foo/bar.jpg
into
/foo/foo/bar.jpg
in the following situation:
/ror/foo/public
/var/www/html/foo -> /var/ror/foo/public/
image_tag("/foo/bar.jpg")
this is exactly how compute_public_path is written to work:

Changing the PE3 console's RAILS_RELATIVE_URL_ROOT? How to prepend a URL string?
Hi All,
I''m looking to prepend a string to all (RHEL based) PE3 console URLs. I''m
trying to proxy the console thru an Oracle web server (Apache under the
hood), and for security we need to make all URLs easily identifiable as
having originated from Puppet in the web log files. A PCI requirement I
believe.
So, the question is how to change https://console.puppet.net into

Apache 2.2, ProxyPass and HTTPS
Hi all,
I''m currently trying to get Mongrel running my app whilst fronted by
apache 2.2 in a sub-directory via https. A bit convoluted I''ll grant
you but necessitated by existing systems.
The pertinent parts of my httpd.conf:
<VirtualHost 123.123.123.123:12345> #historic choice of random port number
DocumentRoot /var/www/admin
ServerName admin.example.com:12345

can't compile assets on prod due to asset_host config && SSL requirement
My production asset_host config looks like this:
config.action_controller.asset_host = Proc.new { |source, request|

else
"#{request.protocol}assets#{(source.length % 4) +

Using config.action_controller.asset_host with ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root
I''m looking for some help with an issue I''m having using an external
asset host. I''ve got the lines below in my environments/development.rb
file.
# Enable serving of images, stylesheets, and javascripts from an asset server
config.action_controller.asset_host = "http://assets.example.com"
#make rails think it lives in /app

Using facebooker AND Haml/Sass
For anyone using both and encountering trouble with stylesheets
(specifically, the paths being incorrect in production mode)...
Removing facebooker solves the issue.
But I bet you don''t want to do that, eh? So, simply setting
ActionController::Base.asset_host = ''''
also works like butter.
I''m not 100% clear on why asset_host has anything to do with

hosting multiple rails apps in one webroot?
It''s actually REALLY easy with lighttpd on linux.
Two apps...
Myserver.com/code/ => /apps/code/
Myserver.com/test/ +> /apps/test/
Each application needs this in the environment.rb
/apps/code/config/environment.rb
ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root = "/code"
/apps/test/config/environment.rb
ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root

Anyone having problems with asset_host not getting set up right?
Hey All,
I think I found a bug but I would be suprised since it would cause major
problems.
We setup the asset_host in init.rb with:
if File.exist?(facebook_config)
FACEBOOKER = YAML.load_file(facebook_config)[RAILS_ENV]
ENV[''FACEBOOK_API_KEY''] = FACEBOOKER[''api_key'']
ENV[''FACEBOOK_SECRET_KEY''] =

relative_url_root and problems with CSS url()
I''m using relative_url_root to allow my app to be run from a sub-
domain. Things work fine except with images that are referenced in my
CSS code.
For example,
background-image: url(/images/bg_image.jpg);
does not take into account the value in relative_url_root.
Consequently, my background image (and other images similarly
referenced in my stylesheet) are not loadable.
Anyone know a

Facebooker and file_column
Facebooker URL Rewriter stuff overloads ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root, causing a conflict with the plugin file_column and possibly other utilities. file_column constructs image URLs using the server host and relative_url_root
This is not related to the sandbox patch I added to the rewriter. Facebooker overloaded relative_url_root before I touched it.

rails, passenger, and images
Just switched over to passenger for development and production for my
rails app. Liking it so far.
My problem is my image_links, stylesheet_tag_links, and
javascript_tag_links are all adding "http://localhost:3000 to the
generated links. I got around the stylesheet and js links by not using
the helpers.
I can access my all of my assets directly via http://dating.local/stylesheets/all.css,

relative_url_root and javascript_include_tag
Hi. In my environment.rb, I have:
ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root = "/foobar"
In my layout, I have:
<%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %>
Question 1:
I am getting an error:
ActionController::RoutingError (no route found to match
"/javascripts/prototype.js" with {:method=>:get}):
When I remove the relative_url_root, everything works great.

Weird stylesheet_link_tag issue after moving servers
Dear experts,
I am in the process of switching servers for my application.
Before the move everything was working properly.
After the move
<%= stylesheet_link_tag ''/stylesheets/styles.css'' %>
generates
<link href="//stylesheets/styles.css" media="screen" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" />

file_column, ActionMailer, and tests
Hi,
Say I have a model Event that has a file_column called ''pdf''.
I want to send out emails that contain the URL for the pdf file that''s
associated with the Event. I also want to test the emails, so I''d
need to be able to get at the URL for the pdf inside my unit tests.
I don''t see how I can use url_for_file_column in this situation.
