Help!!! Bandwith Control with a NAT machine
Hello everyone, First of all, sorry for my poor english. I''ve been working with this for a few weeks and I''m getting sick... I''m trying to control the bandwith in my network using the following script. The machine where the script is running makes NAT, eth0 is connected to the router and eth1 is connected to the Lan. When I run the script it doesn''t appear any

Multiple classes
I''m trying to implement something similar the the diagram in section 9.5.2.1 in the LARTC HOWTO, but must have missed something somewhere :( I''m trying to hack up wondershaper, as it looked like a good place to start.. Here''s where I currently at, but I''ve tried alot of different things, all failing, some worse than others. The end result is to throttle back 126

packet shaping bridge
Hi all, I''m new to using iproute2 for traffic shaping but not new to Linux. Essentially I have a WAN between two cities that I stream audio over for rebroadcast. Since it''s all done live stability and prioritization is critical in staying on air for our radio broadcasts. My WAN is 1.5Mbit PVC within my provider''s infrastructure so I have an unencrypted direct

Adding qdiscs crashes kernel??
Hi all, I''m having some problems setting up qdiscs on a bridge. The config looks a little like this: ifconfig ifb0 up # Bring up the IFB for this bridge. tc qdisc add dev eth2 ingress tc qdisc add dev eth3 ingress tc qdisc add dev ifb0 root handle 1:0 cbq bandwidth 100Mbit avpkt 1000 cell 8 # Raw qdiscs on each bridge port tc qdisc add dev eth2 root handle 1:0 cbq bandwidth

HTB rates aren''t enforced correctly
Hi! I recently changed my qdisc from CBQ and PRIO to only HTB, and I can''t really seem to get the rates to work as I want them to. I have eight classes, which I set up as follows: tc qdisc add dev eth1 root handle 1: htb default 122 tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 1000kbit ceil 1000kbit cburst 1500 burst 50kb tc class add dev eth1 parent 1:1 classid 1:11 htb prio 0

htb & bandwidth sharing
Hi everybody! I''ve been trying with htb and tc filter. It seemed to work fine, but after testing with ethloop I''ve realized that traffic is not being distributed through the leaves as I thought. When sending packets to 1:10 and 1:11 at the same time, there''s no bandwidth sharing. There''s no traffic through 1:11 until traffic through 1:10 has finished. Though

HTB on loopback gives a bit rate multiplied by 8
Hi, I am trying to use htb to limit bandwidth on loopback for traffic through particular port. Here is the script I am using. tc qdisc add dev lo root handle 1: htb tc class add dev lo parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100kbit ceil 100kbit tc class add dev lo parent 1:1 classid 1:10 htb rate 50kbit ceil 50kbit tc class add dev lo parent 1:1 classid 1:11 htb rate 50kbit ceil 50kbit tc filter add

PRIO inside HTB - trouble attaching filters correctly?
Hello everyone! I''m simply trying to put a PRIO inside an HTB (used to throttle). I''ve got interactive traffic on the network that I want to give priority (VoIP + Citrix + Video). I''ve used the filters in a CBQ script fine, but am having trouble adjusting them to this setup such that they properly assign the traffic. tc qdisc del root dev $e tc qdisc add dev $e

tc filter + bridging + htb -- works only if ip_forward = 0
I thought that the below email would be of interest to LARTC readers. I wasted quite a bit of time tracking down this "feature" (bug?). Any comments that shed light on this would be appreciated. In short, "tc filter" + htb + bridging works only with ip_forward off. Andrew Athan ----------------------------------------------------------------------- All: It seems that

Divide bandwidth between 4 groups of ip with the same rate
Hello, I have begun to use the tc scripts since 2 weeks ago, so I am beginner. I am trying to divide my bandwidth in 4 independent ones. Each of these sub-bandwidths is assigned to 4 different groups of ip. Bandwidth sharing is allowed. I put a Linux with two Ethernet card between the router and the LAN. Eth1 is the card connected to the router and eth0 is the one connected to the LAN. My ISP

Simple shaping question
I have linux box (does nat and firewall for small network) connected to dsl. I want to set priorities for protocols (that nothing could disturb web browsing). This is my rules (eth0 connected to internet): /sbin/tc qdisc del dev eth0 root /sbin/tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1 htb default 30 r2q 100 /sbin/tc class add dev eth0 parent 1: classid 1:2 htb rate 900Kbit burst 15k /sbin/tc class

unexpected drop
Hello everybody, I have a Linux router with an ethernet adapter and a ADSL device. My router has a GRE tunnel connected to a remote IP address. Using "tc" I have configured 3 different classes: 1. 290kbit rate (used for Voip Services) 2. 180kbit rate (used for GRE tunnel) 3. 80kbit rate (for generic data traffic) For each class, using "iperf", I send some data from a PC

trying to prioritize voip traffick
I am using a server with asterisk and I am trying to prioritize voip traffick -- I am a newbie at this traffic shaping, so please bear with me. I used the script below and what happens is thatall traffic in the bulk class stops after a couple of minutes. Also, should I include the ports for rtp in the filter statements with the ports 5061 and 4569? Note I have a fairly big pipe -- supposed to
