Leaky bucket in TC
Hi, I am trying to control bandwidths of the connections by using TC with HTB. But I want to implement Leaky Bucket on this structure so as to have a straight flow. Due to being new in this area, could anyone help me how I could do this? Does TC support leaky bucket? Best regards, Fatih Duzova

bandwidth control on htb
Hi, I implemented queues on some ports with htb by filtering. and to have a constant bw, i defined rate and ceil the same. But while watching the bw''s, I ve realized they may sometimes exceed the defined value for short periods. How could I avoid this situation? I thought that implementing a leaky bucket''d be fine but i m not sure about this and how to do it on tc. I would be

Segmentation fault
Hi, I have a small question about tc''s source code. I m trying to compile the code by itself, and for this purpose i ve created a big .c file that includes all the sources it uses. the reason behind this to make a small modification for my school project. But whenever I try to do "tc qdisc add ..." or "tc class add..", it gives the error segmentation fault, and it

Dynamic bandwidth control on htb
Hi, I ve implemented htb queues for some ports on my computer by filtering. when creating queues at very first, i defined rate and ceil values (and made them equal to have a constant bw). How can i change dynamically after this, to increase or decrease bw then? Is there any way to do this? I would be glad, if anyone could help me.. Fatih DUZOVA

leaky bucket on bursty multicast
Hi all, I have an average 2mbit multicast stream that once in a while bursts high (up to 20mbit/s) in short periods (about 200ms). Could anyone please help me with directions using tc for configuing leaky bucket shaping to this stream? I have a 5mbit/s ceiling. My system is running gentoo linux 2.6.14, and I have compiled in all QoS modules. Thanks. Oivind

interactive session
Hi guys, My concern is to create an automated process from the beginning to the end. I want to copy all my code together in one piece and paste it to R console and sit back and relax :) except one moment in which the program should ask me to enter a number.. and only then (only after getting a valid number from me) it should continue to read and process the rest of the code. I tried lots of

Looks like reports from the last month are trickling in. 170 of them in incoming, but there's a lot of spam. Puppet considered harmful?
I am considering installing a Puppet agent on a legacy server running an old, crappy, slow, leaky, yet important Java app. Nervous about introducing anything that might (further) destabilize the app. What are people''s experiences with Puppet in terms of resource usage (CPU/ memory/network/etc)? For starters will likely run it on the standard daemon schedule. Ultimately may want to control

Changing UPS to a bigger APC 1500 1000WA, what driver?
I've drug it as far under the table as I can get it on a 30% heart. Yeah, I'm getting on, I'll be 85 in about 2 weeks. Heart surgury will be scheduled in the next few days to replace a worn out, leaky aortic valve. Piece if cake if my veins are big enough. So what driver do I use with a Smart-UPS_1500??? Never mind it was found and accessed by the bootup! upsc my usp reports:

0.99.10.x auth memory leak?
Hello, running 0.99.10.6 (but seen it before that, too). Also (quite obviously) running 5 auth processes, given the fact that this is a pretty busy box and I didn't want to introduce any artificial bottlenecks. Alas with them eating up half of the free memory (which would go to a much better use as FS cache) I'm getting sorta concerned. If it's not a leak, it's caching something

Sidebar to Systemtap and Dtrace Comparison
My leaky memory says we moved entry-point into some form of debug record in the standard libraries, circa Solaris 8/9. Before that, my group maintained text files that listed all the entry-points and their parameters for libraries like libc.so, so that we could print out parameter values in apptrace(8). There''s a (small) chance the records are complete enough that dtrace could use the
