FWMARK ROUTING OVER MULTIPLE ROUTERS/LANS
I would like to route ssh in my network via DSL2 and all other trafic via
DSL1.
So far I menaged to do it for LAN2 but there are still WLAN1,LAN3 and LAN1 to
go.
On all routers I added table "pilicka" with rule for fwmark and I fwmarked
ssh.
# ip rule show

32765: from all fwmark 0x3 lookup pilicka

relation b/w uplink and downlink rate control
Hello all,
I have browsed archives and real all available HOWTOs, but I still have a few doubts.
My set up is a router, as below.
LAN(100MB)-------------(eth1)Linux-Router(eth0)---------------WAN(2MB/512)
My aim is to cotrol both uplink and downlink bandwidth.
For uplink control, I will use HTB on WAN interface. For downlink, I plan to attach HTB on LAN interface(both egress/outgoing). No

UDP buffer overflows?
Hi,
On one of our asterisk systems that is quite busy, we are seeing the
following from 'netstat -s':
Udp:
17725210 packets received
36547 packets to unknown port received.
44017 packet receive errors
17101174 packets sent
RcvbufErrors: 44017 <--- this
When this number increases, we see SIP errors, and in particular
Qualify packets are lost, and

UDP Perfomance tuning
Hi,
We are running on 5.5 on a HP ProLiant DL360 G6.
Kernel version is 2.6.18-194.17.1.el5 (we had also tested with the latest
available kernel kernel-2.6.18-238.1.1.el5.x86_64)
We running some performance tests using the "iperf" utility.
We are seeing very bad and inconsistent performance on the UDP testing.
The maximum we could get, was 440 Mbits/sec, and it varies from 250 to 440

ingress policy filter for variable rate
Hi,
I have a question about policy filters. All I want is incoming traffic
being restricted to a specific rate. At the moment, I get way lower rates
than specified. So far, I did use a filter much like Wondershaper does:
tc filter add dev $DEV parent ffff: protocol ip prio 50 \
u32 match ip src 0.0.0.0/0 \
police rate ${DOWNLINK}kbit burst 10k drop flowid :1

I have the following code, but I still not know how to estimate and extract
confidence intervals (95%CI) from resampling.
Thanks!

[PATCH net-next V3 3/3] tun: rx batching
We can only process 1 packet at one time during sendmsg(). This often
lead bad cache utilization under heavy load. So this patch tries to do
some batching during rx before submitting them to host network
stack. This is done through accepting MSG_MORE as a hint from
sendmsg() caller, if it was set, batch the packet temporarily in a
linked list and submit them all once MSG_MORE were cleared.

tc rules for Internet Radio
I am currently using the ultimate-tc script from
http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.cookbook.ultimate-tc.html
and I want to make sure that internet radio packets (mp3 streaming audio)
will always get through no matter what. I have added some iptables commands
like this:
iptables -A OUTPUT -t mangle -p tcp --dport 8000 -j TOS --set-tos
Minimize-Delay
iptables -A OUTPUT -t mangle -p tcp --sport 8000 -j

does the inbound traffic affect the outbound on 2 different interfaces
hey guys
i am regulating the traffic to & fro by my network through a
linux gateway , its behaving strange. i regulated Downlink to 2Mbps &
UPlLINK to 500Kbps. both perform well when those are done independent
i.e. one at a time
but when i do both from a client system ..the downlink however
continues at 2mbps but the uplink falls down to 100kbps?

Traffic Shaping for DVB gateway
Hello all,
I am providing broadband service through DVB circuit.
I have 4KB uplink and 32KB downlink. I want to share
32KB downlink bandwidth among 192.168.0.0/24 (20 users
in this subnet i.e 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.22)subnet
where each user will get 2KB to 6KB bandwidth. And
from 4KB uplink bandwidth each users will get only 1KB
to 2KB bandwidth.

Wondershaper 1.1a bandwidth speed test gives me uplink speed instead of downlink
I have been testing wondershaper 1.1a with htb.
DOWNLINK=2304
UPLINK=1024
DEV=wlan0
No other changes have been made, except to comment out the 2 lines to
allow the script to run.
When I do a speed test from sites like www.toast.net/performance, I only
get speeds equal to my UPLINK speed. I expected a speed closer to the
DOWNLINK. Am I missing something here?
TIA,
