Is kvm-clock dependant on hardware of Physical Server?
I've got a three Centos 5.5 KVM severs, but only one of them is presenting guests with the kvm-clock source. The two servers I'm not seeing kvm-clock on have Athlon x2 64bit processors. The other server with kvm-clock has a Phenom II X6 1090T Processor. I've checked the system configuration and all the boxes have the same set of RPM packages. To confirm that the issue was

Wine based "Windows desktop"
Hi, I would like set up a Linux desktop icon and menu item that will launch a wine based "Windows desktop". Ideally the "Windows desktop" should look excactlly like a *default* windows 2K/XP desktop. Is this possible ? Has anybody already done so ? Is that already docemented somewhere ? I think this would allow more users to try out wine using the familar windows gui

Clock fast - work around
Well, to the clock being fast work around, I kind of found a way to work around it for now... 1) use a distribution that supports VMI (VMware's paravirtualization) 2) enable VMI paravirtualization support in VMware Workstation 6 VM's profile 3) use vmi-timer as the clocksource (as opposed to pit, acpi_pm, etc.) 4) CPU must be constantly at maximum frequency For 1), I use Ubuntu 7.10 For

clock, centos 4 and dual core?
Hi, I have a dual core athlon server and it is gaining 1 day every 2 days w/o time sync. Even with ntpd running, the time is not under control. I must put a very frequent cronjob of 'ntpdate' to keep the time under control. This creates big problems since winbind eventually stops working so my users can't access their data. Any ideas? -- Ugo -> Please don't send a copy of

[PATCH] packet delay scheduler
Okay, here is a very simple QOS scheduler that delays packets for 2.6. It is good for testing, and might be useful for people who want to put some class of traffic into a "penalty box". Alexey''s tc command is really easy to extend to new disciplines. There is a version which knows about this scheduler at: http://developer.osdl.org/shemminger/tcp/iproute2-delay.tar.bz2 The

Compilation error Mac binary
Hello, the compilation of the GUTS package on CRAN for Mac produces the following error messages: http://www.r-project.org/nosvn/R.check/r-release-macosx-ix86/GUTS-00install.html I guess it is some namespace collision, but I can not reproduce it on my machine, it compiles fine here. What is the cause and which setup do I need to reproduce the errors? R: version platform

[LLVMdev] Possible Typo in SelectionDAGLowering::visitShuffleVector
Hello While building LLVM, the compiler (static analysis) is giving me a warning about "if (RangeUse[0] == 0 && RangeUse[0] == 0) {". Can somebody familar with the codebase look over it, maybe this should be "if (RangeUse[0] == 0 && RangeUse[1] == 0) {", otherwise sorry for the noise. icecast 2.0.0 chroot problem
Hmm Im not too familar with RH AS, I have been using Redhat since 5.2 though, and in my experiences its better to be safer than sorry. Essentially what you are allowing is the icecast user the ability to login to a shell, which can lead to disaster. Just a piece of advice, I would disable the shell on that user!! Good Luck and let me know if you have any other questions on getting Icecast up.

kjournald panic in 2.4.20
Hi, If this is a redundant post I apologize. I am running 2.4.20 on what has been a very stable Athlon machine for months, tried to move a 2 GB file from an ext2 partition to an ext3 and kjournald crashed. [RFC] Supporting ARM's SVE in LLVM

From the outset our approach to add SVE support to LLVM IR has been about solving the generic problem of vectorising for an unknown vector length and then extending this to support predication. how to plot this?
Hi, there: Suppose I have a couple of data.frames and each one has five columns (one for x-axis, two for y-axis and two for std of y's.) There is another dimensions (besides x and y) which is continuous. My question is, how to plot such series of data frames in one plot (thus, 3-dimensional plot) AND multiple 2-D plots. I am not familar with R's plotting utilities. Thanks. -- Weiwei

[RFC] Supporting ARM's SVE in LLVM
I'm sorry.. may I interrupt for a minute and try to grok things for a bit different angle.. While the VL can vary.. in practice wouldn't the cost of vectorization and width be tied more to the hardware implementation than anything else? The cost of vectorizing thread 1 vs 2 isn't likely to change? (Am I drunk and mistaken?) If the above holds true then the the length would be only

[LLVMdev] Differences and Relationship between VLIW scheduler and VLIW packetizer?
Hi Yang, They have different implementations because they don't do the same thing and don't rely on the same structures. VLIW scheduling works on the SelectionDAG, right after the instruction selection, and it will schedule the DAG but it will not build any packet. The VLIW packetizer has been designed to work with machine instructions, using the ScheduleDAGInstr, and it does build
