Multiple uplinks - load balancing
Hello!
I have set up a LINUX router with two seperate uplinks to do load
balancing. I made all the configuration after the "NANO-HOWTO to use
more than one independent Internet connection" document. I patched my
2.4.24 kernel with patches, described in this document. My
configuration is:

two WANs one LAN
Hello list,
I want a set-up with a satellite link (eth0) and a cellular cdma
link (ppp0) coming into a linux box with a LAN (eth1 or wlan0)
to be able to route first through the satellite when it''s on, or
else the cdma when it''s in range. Load sharing is not critical,
but it would be nice. The satellite has a static IP, the cdma
is dynamic. Both WANs are

multiple uplinks example script
Hi!
I had two uplinks till today. We stopped one of them today, so i thought
i could share my experience. (it is maybe useful for somebody)
I hadn''t managed to configure it using a LARTC howto, but the Nano-howto
(http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt) and julian''s kernel patches.
I had some problems with icq connections, because it is a two step
connection (It is just theory).

Multiple Uplinks with the same gateway ip?!
Hi folks,
i spent my whole day trying to set up my linux router using load
balancing with multiple uplinks. I mainly focused on the nano howto, but
somewhere I have a big mistake within my head.
Basically the load-balancing is working, but not on a per-connection
basis - just on a per packet basis. Practically this is not usable of
course <g>
But as far as I understood it should work..

2-3 uplinks, nat and failover...is it possible?
Hello,
I am trying something crazy here. I have gone through the old
archives, lartc.org and lot''s of documentation, but still something is
wrong.
Here is the situation;
The server is Fedora core 2 running kernel 2.6.5
I have 2 uplinks to two different ISP''s. (It will be 3-4 in the future).
These ISP''s should serve the bandwith to local clients with multiple subnets.

Routing for multiple uplinks/providers problem.
Been running this for quite a while and noticed that have intermittent
problems getting out.
Find that if I ping the same site from 2 computers it may work on one
and fail on the other.
Also was surprised that some time they are going out different
interfaces at the same time.
Seems to work all the time from the firewall.

OT: iax.cc hosts - want to do some traceroutes before buying
Sorry about this, but do any users have more detailed iax.cc
information? Will they do trunking? What are the hosts that I will be
logging into? I want to make sure that they will work well for me, and
I would like to do some traceroutes to make sure that they are close!
Thanks.

Ping and traceroute...
Hi everybody,
Right now, we are blocking pings and traceroutes to our website.
But, in order for our members to test the connection when they are experiencing slow browsing, we are thinking about unblocking them...
Are there still any security issues (flooding, etc...) in enabling them or is that an old problem fixed a long time ago?
Thanks,
JD

because I have specific networks to take it throughout another interface.

Using multiple uplinks
Hi, I''m with a problem here on configuring our server to use multiple
uplinks with different providers.
The packet goes though on my way, but there is some lost packets that I
don''t known where it''s going and causing my link to goes slow and stop
sending/receiving data.
Here i''m listing the route tables and the rules. It''s only for 1 IP.

Routing for multiple uplinks and SNAT to 2 source IPs
Hi,
I configured a router box to use 2 providers, as described
in the HOWTO. (Apendix 1)
I want to use both links to reach a single smtp server. As I read
in the kptd and in some old messages of this list, doing a SNAT
in the postrouting chain comes _after_ the routing desision.
So I guess the following lines I''m trying to use are wrong.
(See Apendix 1)
What can I do to have multiple
