How to fake composite primary keys?
I know ActiveRecord doesn''t support composite primary keys, but I need to use one, and I need it ASAP. I don''t need any composite foreign keys, luckily; what I have is a table that stores old versions of rows in another table, so the composite key is an id + date stamp. Would someone tell me a hack I can use to support this? -- View this message in context:

The only differences with the shopping cart is My list of products are generated from a partial view The images of the products come from an http link. However, Iam seeing a strange behavior when I drag and drop the elements to my cart. On the first drag and drop the image successfully reverts to

Grouping by 3 variable and renaming groups
Hello, Sorry, but I think my first answer is wrong. You probably want something along the lines of sp <- split(priceStore_Grps, priceStore_Grps$StorePC) res <- lapply(seq_along(sp), function(i){ sp[[i]]$StoreID <- paste("Store", i, sep = "_") sp[[i]] }) res <- do.call(rbind, res) row.names(res) <- NULL Hope this helps, Rui Barradas On 5/26/2018

an instance of one model in another model''s definition?
Hi all, I am creating a multiple-storefront shopping cart in Rails, and have run into a small problem. In addition to the cart, line-item, product, and order models (pretty much standard for this sort of thing), I have a Storefront model which locates the current storefront (by examining the domain name), and initializes itself. This works fine throughout, and by declaring a

Somewhat off-topic : Hand and Taylor reference
I am sorry to trouble the list with this, but I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me track down this reference. I am looking for a good reference on repeated measures, and many of the relevant functions in R refer in their "help" to: Hand, D. J. and Taylor, C. C. (1987) _Multivariate Analysis of Variance and Repeated Measures._ Chapman and Hall. This sounds

AGI - IVR - Time Clock
I wanted to post the beginings of my latest IVR Project for an automated Time Clock software. The customer has over 300 Field Reps that call in everytime they arrive on location and whey they leave that location. This is handled by the receptionist now and she logs in them and out of there Time Clock Software. Which takes up majority of her day. The customer has requested a automated way of

Trouble setting up correlation structure in lme
Hi, I'm trying to set up AR(1) as a correlation structure in modeling some data (attached file data.txt in text format) with lme, but have trouble getting it to work. Incent, Correctness, and Oppor are 3 categorical variables, Beta is a response variable, and Time is an equally-spaced variable with 6 time points (treated as a categorical variable as well). Basically I want to model the

How to improve this code?
Hi all, I've got some functioning code that I've literally taken hours to write. My 'R' coding is getting better...it used to take days :) I know I've done a poor job of optimizing the code. In addition, I'm missing an important step and don't know where to put it. So, three questions: 1) I'd like the resulting output to be sorted on distance (ascending) and

Re: 12.50$ per port ???
Shoval, Interesting Mention. I agree, most people don't have CO exp. And I wish daily I had enough. Understand that what I mean by my e-mail is consumer side FXS ports, in broader terms, I mean, customer picks up a phone line, it signals a channel bank which signals *. 24 of those channels. Not channels equipped to Send Signal to the CO that a loop has been made.. meaning FXO. 24

New version of the AWDwR beta book available
I''ve uploaded the B1.12 version of AWDwR. The major changes include: - Justin Gehtland''s new chapter on Web 2.0 - James Duncan Davisdon''s chapter on deployment (this is an interesting one---JDD has strong opinions on how a Rails application should be deployed, and the chapter mirrors this. You''ll find it short and easy to follow). - I changed the

[AWDwR] Make flash[:notice] go away
Following the tutorial app in Agile Rails, I''m trying to figure out the best way to get the flash notice to go away after an "Invalid product" is selected (eg. when a new, valid product is selected). This is after Task D, Chapter 9, in the 2nd Ed Beta. I''ve come close to getting to work right, but I think I may still be missing something in the control flow of
