Multicast routing with multiple routers problem
Hi, I have problem with multicast routing on my network. I tried mrouted and also pimd, but always same problem. When I set mrouted or pimd on one router, everything works fine, but when I start mrouted/pimd on another one, routing die. In moment when I start anorher mrouted/pimd /proc/net/ip_mr_cache is cleaned. My topology: gateway (no mrouted/pimd)

Asterisk not hanging up calls
I have noticed that Asterisk (version 1.2.13) is not hanging up a call when the wifi handset moves out of range. My setup is Nokia E61 connected to wifi access point (private IP range) and then to server on internet (public IP). I have been testing using the talking clock application, and walking out of range does not hang up the call. The call will continue for hours even though the handset

WaitExten only reading 1 digit.
I am trying to setup an interactive menu where a caller hits the main menu and can then dial an extension. As far as I can tell the "Waitexten" app is failing to read 3 digits and just reading the first and then announcing that it is invalid since all extensions are 3 digits. How do I make Waitexten wait for 3 digits? I have setup the extension "100" for users to reach the

Multicast routing
Hello list, Not sure if I am asking the question in the correct list. I am a newbie trying to get multicast routing to work on my linux 2.4 kernel. I am using usc pimd code. I have pimd which sets up the route in the kernel [ /tmp]# ip mroute show (22.22.22.1, 224.0.1.20) Iif: eth2 Oifs: eth1 [ /tmp]# I can see data packets arriving on eth2 [/tmp]# tethereal -i eth2 Capturing

3 way calling independent of phone hw.
I'm looking for a recipe for a 3 way call where one of the parties can (without using the flash button) dial-out and add a third participant to the call. I tried Googling but it seems I'm missing a key search term. The reason I wanted to avoid using the flash button is that some handsets don't have it (nokia E61 who's 2 way calling via sip is also broken) Something like: 1.

multicast over GRE tunnel
I need to send multicast traffic through a GRE tunnel between two Linux routers. The tunnel works for normal IP packets, but I can''t see how to make it work for multicast. Here''s the setup: 10.10.10.0/24 LAN-B--------------RtrB-------------RtrC--------------LAN-C 192.168.2.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 RtrB interfaces: eth0

Multicast routing
How do the Multicast routers sniff IGMP/MLD messages from the network? I checked the XORP, pimd etc. Most of them just open a RAW socket with protocol set to IPPROTO_IGMP. But using this the router gets the packets addressed to 224.0.0.1 only. How does it receive IGMPv2 and IGMPv3 membership reports sent by other hosts? Thanks, Sachin

Multicast Routing
Hi, Anybody know anything about multicast routing? :) I see the HOWTO is rather lacking in this area... On my home network, I have multiple subnets attached to my router. I''d like multicast packets on either interface to be distributed on the other interface. (For context, this is to get Apple''s Rendezvous protocol to work across multiple subnets). I thought this should be

masc and multicast
I am trying to set up my Shorewall box to forward multicast packets to my local net. I do have some problems with mrouted (see below), but I can join and add routes using smcroute. Multicast works when shorewall is disabled. I got a lot of help from the following. http://lists.shorewall.net/pipermail/shorewall-users/2005-January/016674.html I cannot get the multicast packets to pass the fw when

Asterisk on UML (User Mode Linux)
What's the current thinking on running Asterisk in a UML environment? I saw some discussion about Xen and asterisk on a Xen DomU. I'm currently running Asterisk in a UML and have noticed poorer quality on calls. I'm only using SIP and IAX2 trunks. No hardware adapters. I guess timing is important, but even if I could get the provider to install a kernel with the Zaptel Dummy timing

building a multicast router
Hi, I have been reading: http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.multicast.html in effort to understand how to route multicast traffic and just joined the group. History: I am trying to multicast mpeg (using the videolan server) on a private network. The server side of the network is copper gigabit, which connects to one of those cheap fast Ethernet switches with a single gigabit uplink. The problem

RE: building a multicast router: RESOLUTION
well, once i figured out what to do it was easy. 1) install freebsd over linux. 2) recompile kernel with: option MROUTING 3) start mrouted 4) go get yourself a cold beer. you deserve it! thanks! -bob CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: The information in this electronic mail transmission contains confidential information intended only for the use of the individual or entity named above. theora video plugin ? videolan plugin?
hi, I'm Alexander a just a question ? is there a reason why there shouldn't be a web player for theora in Mozilla FireFox ? or Internet explorer ? I'm thinking to compile videolan player with theora support only and enable the web plugin interface, it would replace the cortado player and possibly provide a better alternative to flash video plugin in linux when somebody starts a

Yum package/instlal/update problem
Hi gang! I'm trying to update my videolan client (0.8.4a-4.el4.rf) to the latest 0.8.6 version. I see that Dag has a 0.8.6 for EL4 (I'm running Centos 4.4) but when I do "yum update videolan-client" it says there's nothing to update. When I remove the videolan client than do "yum install videolan-client" it insists on trying to install the 0.8.4 version:

Disabling IPv6 in Centos 4.x Experiences
Hi there, While I was looking "how to disable ipv6 under centos" I have found a gazzillion pages about how to do it and some of then even list things that i am not sure where they came from, so for the record I list most of them here in case someone else need them. Some of the methods involved the direct modification of system scripts, and I am against that so I wont list them here
