Prioritizing filters in tcng?
Hello, I''ve been using a TCNG-based traffic shaper for about a year and a half now to manage bandwidth usage of a number of our fiber and wireless customers, and it''s always worked extremely well. Right now though, I''m finding myself with a problem I''m not sure how to solve properly: We also provide colocation hosting for several of those clients, and

TCNG and filter priorities
Hello, A while ago I switched a bandwidth management setup from bash shell script using tc to a MUCH more readable tcng solution (yes, the same one I asked for help with earlier. It worked perfectly, thanks) and it''s working very well. However, one of our clients now has a slightly unique situation, in that they''re using colocation hosting to host their webserver with us, but

Samba as Domain Member Server Authentication Problem
I've been working for hours with Samba on Ubuntu Server 9.10 (Samba version 3.4.0), trying to get it setup simply as a fileserver that performs authentication to an NT 4 server (yes, I know, old and out of date). After much struggling, I finally realized that my configuration *was* working when the clients connecting (from XP, and Win2k clients, mostly) were actually joined to the domain

__Very__ Low Bandwidth
I am using the script below to simulate a very low bandwidth connection. I found that I could turn the bandwidth knob down to about 4kbit, but below that I didn''t get any traffic through. I''ve had a look at this generally, but couldn''t find an answer. It doesn''t even seem like the first reply packet gets through. I have tried it with much bigger buffers,

Cannot map to other client shares
I have had a very odd problem for a while now, and am hoping this will ring a bell for someone who can point me in the right direction. I had a previous Samba DC (v3.5.6) in my home network, running on a command-line Slackware box. For a variety of reasons I decided to switch to Debian Jessie, which included an upgrade to Samba 4.2.10. I did NOT properly migrate my samba files to the new

Problems running dbench on 3.3
To test gluster's behavior under heavy load, I'm currently doing this on two machines sharing a common /mnt/gfs gluster mount: ssh bal-6.example.com apt-get install dbench && dbench 6 -t 60 -D /mnt/gfs ssh bal-7.example.com apt-get install dbench && dbench 6 -t 60 -D /mnt/gfs One of the processes usually dies pretty quickly like this: [608] open

Can't join domain - new machine name
I have just implemented an NT Domain using samba 3.0.4 on Slackware 9.1, a very simple LAN with 4 or 5 clients. Clients: Win XP Pro. Everything looks OK so far, apart from this issue: I create machine accounts for existing client machines using their existing names ... works fine, they can join domain. Except that we want to rename the existing machines using a new consistent format (client1,

tcng not working as expected
Hi, Looking at the following sample, shouldn''t the client1_a be restricted to 35kBps even when there is 50kBps available. Please see the following configuration and suggest. What I wanted to do is I have clients grouped on VIP and Poor. The VIP clients and poor clients may be subscribed with the same bandwidth but I would like to prioritize the VIP clients. The VIP client will get the
