Muti Asterisk
Dear All,
I have installed 4 asterisks on the same Centos machine..>Each Asterisk has
its own installation folder and use its own libraries...Everything looks
great and all asterisks are doing their jobs correctly except one thing...I
faced a voice quality issue...On a specific time, and after the number of
calls begin increasing, the voice quality will begin degradation...

web app deployment on a Debian server
Hello,
I would like to ask your advice for the simplest method to do deployment on a debian server. From my perspective the system should look something like this :
# web server node
node "prod.domain.com" inherits webserver {
webapp::project{app1:
domain => "app1.com",
package => "app1",
version => ''1.1.2''

Playing flac files from external hard drive
I use an old laptop running linux. Works great, and it is a very inexpensive
solution.

RoR Deployment on Shared Hosting
Hey all -
Well, I''ve gone through all of the tutorials I can get my hands on, and
I''ve developed what is basically a (very) simple front-end to a database
that I maintain online.
My big problem now is deployment. Almost everything that I''ve found on
the web regarding deployment (and this includes the instructions for
Switchtower/Ccapistrano) assumes that I have

Quota Problem?
Good list
I am not very good with English.
I use dovecot-1.0-1.2.rc15.el5.x86_64rpm for Centos 5.1, Maildir like
mailbox and I have
it configured as it continues:
base_dir = /var/run/dovecot/
protocols = imaps pop3s imap
mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir
protocol imap {
mail_plugins = quota imap_quota
mail_plugin_dir = /usr/lib/dovecot/imap
}
protocol pop3 {

Playing flac files from external hard drive
Hi Kerry,
Thanks for the detailed information. I have seen some mp3 players that claim
to play flac, so I think that this is not a problem any longer. My disk is
formatted to FAT32 because in the past I tried to access it through some
backwards Windows system and had to make sure it could be read by it.
The only problem remains accessing the data through a USB connection,
because the disk is

Color in console
Hey all. I have a color-capable console (color ls works, and I can run
any color-smart program like naim and bitchX), but for some reason the
color in the console for asterisk, whether started with -c or
safe_asterisk, isn't working for me.
Any ideas as to why?
I don't think it's my termcap, although I could post that if y'all really
wanted it.

Revisiting deployment on a dedicated server
I''m in the midst of a few new Rails deployments as well as being tasked to revise an existing older deployment to help improve performance.
So, I''m wondering what sort of setup is preferable these days for a dedicated server? The basics I''m aiming to start with are the latest CentOS/RHEL, PostgreSQL, Ruby 2.x, Rails and Apache.
Is Passenger still the way to go these

mutistage deployment question...
Hello!
I apologize that I''m posting this here as it probably belongs in a git
group, but I figured this was a very standard Rails concern so here
goes...
I''m wondering what people do as best practices for when you have a
multi-staging environment and you have a feature that needs to "hop
over" the current test/stage environment?
Case in point. Let''s say you

Polycon IP 300 SIP vs Grandstream BT-101 Deployment
Hi,
I have just completed the deployment of a couple of Grandstream phones
(for internal IP use) and was wondering how much harder it would be to
deploy a Polycom IP 300 phone. The Grandstream was quite easy to deploy
and gives us good voice quality over DSL, however from some of the
previous posts I am see that some people had troubles with the Polycom
300. The variant I am looking at

Using FreeBSD Update to deploy system updates from custom builds
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone was using freebsd-update to manage deployment
of custom FreeBSD builds to there systems.
Here is the scenario, I have 2 binary build servers at the moment (one
for i386 and one for amd64) and currently we stage the deployments of
updates on NFS servers at each site. We use make installworld/kernel to
update the servers from read only src and obj NFS mounts.

Hardphone deployment recommendation
I'm looking to purchase and deploy a bunch of hardphones for agent
use. The phones will have to register with Asterisk and/or SER,
depending on where the phones go. They need only one line, G729 codec,
and no super fancy features. Preferrably something that is easy to
provision.
I would think the BudgeTone would be good, but then I've read so many
people complaining about them, and some

Playing flac files from external hard drive
Hi,
Many thanks for this! I was looking for an inexpensive solution, and a Nokia
tablet is too expensive for me. I was hoping for a cheap mp3 player with a
USB connection, but thanks for the advice anyway.

My Phone Review- Large Scale Corp Deployment.
I have had the opportunity to test many IP phones in the last 6 months
and I thought you might enjoy a quick review of what I have found.
Grandstream Budgtone 200 - Poor Quality for business use- Looks good,
and the handset feels nice, buttons have a decent feel, but the disply
is difficult to read when you are not directly over head of the phone,
plus the sound quality of the handset, and
