Rookie with ActionMailer
To start out I''ll say that this is the first thing that I''ve ever built
that''s been intended to programmatically send email. I''m looking at
examples in AWR and also on the wiki. I feel that I sort of have things
set up right but I''m getting an error I can''t grok:

micky mouse sound with chan_capi solved?
hi all
talking to this friend if mine just now, I realised I had no 'micky mouse'
sound as eaerlier with chan_capi and AVM C2. We talked in 1 hour and 18
minutes without encountering any problems whatsoever. This was him calling
me, but I don't know if that's important.

nobody owned smbd processes are not ending
I am running the latest release of Samba on RH8 (2.2.7-5.8.0). I use it
primarily to provide master browse functionality, and to act as a print
server (using CUPS 1.1.17-0.2).
I am watching a TOP session, after printing from a W2K workstation. (I
restarted Samba before I did this). There is now one smbd processed
owned by nobody, which is not ending (and the print has completed). In

handling navigation tabs - use sessions?
I think this is a fairly easy question done several times in several
languages, but on a traditional ''tab'' based navigation webpage, what''s
the best way to handle the active state?
I am using this in my view:
<% for category in @categories %>
<% if the condition is met to make this the active tab %>
<li><a id=''active''

is it ok to call speex_encode_int after speex_bits_write?
I'm reliably getting a corrupt stream when I do a certain encoding and
decoding test.
I've pegged it down to this: encoding some frames, calling
speex_bits_write() and then encoding another frame produces a corrupt
stream.
My question is, is this a speex bug or incorrect API use?
I can provide a test case (currently in python, will translate to c if
needed).
Thanks,
Micky

Navigation techniques, everyone?
I''m rewriting the code to my first app. I want to reuse a lot of it,
but tidy it up a lot. The first thing I will tackle is my nav-bar.
Throughout a user''s experience on my app, I want it to reload as little
as possible (I''ll have about 7 or 8 controllers with about 70 actions).
So, I''ve thought of a few ways of doing it, and was wondering if you

Newbie help re: "dynamic" navigation menu
Hi
I am trying to get my head around how you would "efficiently" do a
left-hand navigation menu structure derived from various database table
entries.
Example is loosely based on AWDwR''s depot app. Say you wanted to
instead to have the left-hand nav links show the following:
Books
book title 1
book title 2
...
CDs
CD title 1
CD title 2

Files being modified in /bin/
For the binary experts.
I have a situation here. Something hideously but continuously is modifying
the /bin/ executables as common as coreutils and net-tools.
I can verify that from md5sum. First thing I checked was 'ls' and it has a
checksum mismatch. So I removed it and reinstalled it. Then I moved the file
somewhere else to cross bisect it.
I did a hexdump on original ls file and the

Bluetooth Navigation
I am trying to use CoPilot navigation. The program installed just fine, but wine seems to be missing irprops.cpl. When I try to run the program using "wine copilot.exe" it gives me this error.

Navigation Helper
I am attempting to integrate a main navigation section into my web
application. Naturally the easiest and DRY way to do this would be to
either include it in a layout, or as a partial. The only problem is
that I want the link for the current page to have its own css id
("current"). The only way I can think to accomplish this is to just
include the navigation in every page, but this is

Site Navigation With Polymorphic Has Many Through
Hi, seem to keep running into a wall here. I can''t find any resources on
site navigation that can deal with any model being in the nav, allow
nesting, and can dynamically update.
So I thought about it for a while, and decided on a MenuItems class, which
contained the position of the child in relation to it''s siblings, where the
parent and the child were polymorphic. Then a given

OT: US city proximity search
Does anyone know where I might be able to download/purchase a database of US
cities and their longitude/latitude coordinates? I''d like to provide a
search option on a website that allows users to search by city but include
cities in the surrounding area.
Thanks,

It is pertinent. It is lucidly expressed and many concur.

That can be an onerous burden especially when one lacks knowledge and

Page Navigation
Hi, this is probably not strictly a Rails or Ruby question but I hope
that someone here can answer it or at least point me in the right
direction.
1. When you click on a link to ''B'', within a long page ''A'' (IE. one
that is bigger than the browser window so you need to scroll to
navigate it) When you return from ''B'' via a link (to

persisting tree navigation
I have built a tree navigation for pages I have in a site, that loads
the content of each page into FCK editor. The parent nodes are shown at
the beginning, and the child nodes are in display:none hidden divs that
are toggled with scriptaculous bindup and binddown. If the user clicks
on one of the children, I want that div to remain visible on page
refresh. I''m pretty new with app
