Info about IFB
Hi, I''m looking for info about IFB devices and how I can use it to incomming traffic shapping. Has IFB any web about it? Do any body known where I can find more info about it? I found this: http://linux-net.osdl.org/index.php/IFB But I can''t stand fine how to use it to allow many ifb''s devices or how to use it with "tc actions". Any help? Thanks --

Traffic shaping on multiple interfaces
I''m trying to setup traffic shaping on my linux gateway/router. The system has 3 interfaces: eth0 - My LAN - with IP address 192.168.0.254 eth1 - The ethernet connection to which my ADSL modem is connected. This has a 10.25.x.x IP, more on this later. The ADSL link has an upstream of ~1.2mbit. ppp0 - The PPP connection which is my WAN connection, with a real world IP. The system acts

even bandwith for users on 2 newtworks
Server : eth0 - internet DSL eth1 - LAN wlan0 - wireles LAN I want server to share bandwith from eth0 evenly for users on eth1 and wlan0. How can i make it ? Is it possible ? As far as i know htb splits outgoing bandwith on one device only. ---------------------------------------------------- Grypa? Damy radę! ingress can be used to control the incoming packet, such as: tc qdisc add dev eth0 handle ffff: ingress tc filter add dev eth0 parent ffff: protocol ip prio 5 u32 match ip src 172.16.1.11 police rate 10kbit burst 10k drop flowid :1 tc filter add dev eth0 parent ffff: protocol ip prio 5 u32 match ip src 172.16.1.22 police rate 10kbit burst 10k drop flowid :2 first ,I do not sure these method can

ifb and ppp
Hello! My goal is to setup an ingress traffic shaping on my PPPOE DSL line with ifb. My old imq stuff used iptables marks (like ''iptables -t mangle -A PREROUTING -p tcp --sport 22 -m length --length :500 -j MARK --set-mark 31'') to classify the traffic and since i am lazy, i tried to to reuse them with ifb. But no luck: iptables marks the packets well, but tc

questions about HFSC, VoIP and (dynamic) ingress shaping
Hello, I just found the great howto and started shaping my internet connection. The howto''s last update is a liitle in the past now so I have some questions about how things are done the best way nowadays ;-) To ensure a stable and low latency voip communication I added an HFSC qdisc to device ppp0 (1 Mbit SDSL). There are two classes (by now): One for SIP and RTP and one for the

Kernel Packet Traveling Diagram
Hi, I find this diagram which details the kernel packet traveling : http://www.docum.org/docum.org/kptd/ Is it up to date ? I made some test and I put a DNAT rules in the PREROUTING table of an interface and I attach it a ingress policy, the dst IP wasn''t changed. the DNAT it isn''t yet make. I''ve another question (I''m not sure is it the good mailing list), for

htb : server trafficcontrol
Hi everyone, I have a small problem. I have my debian server setup in my home. I have setup htb that is working perfectly. The only problem I have is to control the traffic server <-> internet I have a daemon (bittorrent) and I would like to limit its download to a certail amount. How can I do that ? I have tried layer7 but it seems I''m doing something wrong in the htb script.

TC in Wireless Environment
Hi, Has anyone used TC in a wireless environment, which is dynamic. I understand that the parameters for queuing are static and cannot be changed unless the queuing discipline is deleted and reloaded with different parameters. If anyone can share any experience, that would be helpful. Thanx. Azim. _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl

Re: Standalone Shaping
On a router, there is no need for and IMQ because there is always an egress path. For example: Internet -> eth1 -> iptables -> routing -> ... -> egress qdisc -> eth0 -> LAN LAN -> eth0 -> iptables -> routing -> .... -> egress qdisc -> eth1 -> Internet Local Process / Proxy -> routing -> iptables -> egress qdisc -> eth1/eth0 ->

Ingress qdisc bypassed on SNAT''ed traffic?
Hello, I am using the following iptables POSTROUTING rule to NAT some RFC 1918 addresses: iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.19.23 ! 192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0 -p tcp --dport 80 -j SNAT --to-source 10.32.4.2 (I am using SNAT instead of MASQUERADE for performance reasons). I have several addresses on the 192.168.0.0/16 subnet that I am SNAT''ing similarly. Problem is, ''tc

How can I discern egress traffic than ingress traffic?
I have two interfaces, eth0 and eth1 but i can''t discern the egress traffic than ingress traffic. I need to apply htb qdisc in both directions, and I read that I need the IMQ patch to do this, because in ingress qdisc i can''t apply htb qdisc...but where is the ingress qdisc? affect the traffic that goes from eth0 to eth1 or is for the traffic that goes from eth1 to eth0?

classification of incoming traffic with tc
Hi all, Another requirement we have is that traffic entering the DS domain be classified then subsequently assigned a (different?) DSCP based upon its classification. For illustrative purposes only let''s say (for traffic entering the DS domain on dev eth0): - WWW traffic would be marked BE - traffic destined for 10.10.10.10 would be marked AF11 - VoIP traffic from 20.20.20.20 would

connmark on ifb interfaces
Hello I''m trying to switch from IMQ to IFB but I have a problem with traffic marked by ipp2p module. Looks like when traffic is redirected from ethX to ifbX it looses information about MARK.
