Dell PowerConnect 2724 Switch and QoS for VOIP?
Has anyone had any experience with the Dell PowerConnect 2724 Gigabit
Switch and VoIP traffic? It seems to support Class of Service (CoS),
but not full Quality of Service (QoS).
Will CoS help prioritize VoIP traffic at all? I am setting up an
asterisk PBX for 22 users with very light traffic, but I don't want
to have the call start skipping just because someone is pulling a

difference percentile R vs SPSS
Dear list,
I am calculating the 95th percentile of a set of values with R and with SPSS
In R:
> normal200<-rnorm(200,0,1)
> qnorm(0.95,mean=mean(normal200),sd=sd(normal200),lower.tail =TRUE)
[1] 1.84191
In SPSS, if I use the same 200 values and select Analyze -> Descriptive Statistics -> Frequencies
and under "Statistics", I type in '95' under Percentiles,

how to customize boxplot
Dear List,
I'd like to make boxplots of a large number of observations (+/-
20.000), which are distributed log-normal and right skewed. The
problem is that with standard boxplots a too large number of
observations are displayed as outliers. I also tried to display the
log of the observations, but even then there are to may outliers to my
taste. So I'd like to change the standard IQR box

More efficient matrix computation
I have a 20x3 matrix as follows:
> m <- replicate(3, matrix(rnorm(20),20,1))
I need to compute, say, 95th and 99th percentiles of
each column such that the resulting matrix becomes 2x3
with each row representing the respective percentile.
My "best effort" is to compute one column at a time as
follows:
> quantile(m[,1], c(0.95, 0.99))
To do the same for columns 2 and 3, I

copying large files over NFS locks up machine on -testing from Thursday
I''ve locked up my dom0 a couple of times this morning copying a 3GB
file from local disk to an NFS mount(neither xend nor guests running).
I don''t encounter this problem on the stock CentOS 4 kernel. The
machine is a PowerEdge 2850 with 2 e1000 cards - the one in use is
connected to a PowerConnect 2216 10/100 switch and has negotiated
100Mbit. I''ll check if the stock

Boxplots using percentiles?
The standard R boxplot appears to use quartiles to determine the height of
the rectangles and a range parameter - RNG - (default=1.5 I think) that
determines the length of the whiskers as <= RNG x Interquartile Range. Is
it possible to instead define the range as extending to the 95th percentile?
If so, how would this be done?
nb, I'm plotting multiple boxplots on a single chart so a

Then I take 20 observations from this dataset, and assign to pr.
in p1982, p has 1982 levels, in dataset pr, p should have 1 levels.
But I do str(pr), it shows that p still has 1982 levels.

Memory Problems with a Simple Bootstrap - Part II
I have distilled my bootstrap problem down to this bit of code, which
calculates an estimate of the 95th percentile of 7500 random numbers drawn
from a standard normal distribution:

sample.data <- annual.data[b.index]
return(quantile(sample.data,probs=c(0.95))) }

logistic discrimination: which chance performance??
Hello,
I am using logistic discriminant analysis to check whether a known
classification Yobs can be predicted by few continuous variables X.
What I do is to predict class probabilities with multinom() in nnet(),
obtaining a predicted classification Ypred and then compute the percentage
P(obs) of objects classified the same in Yobs and Ypred.
My problem now is to figure out whether P(obs) is

[SPAM] - what hardware components do i need? - Email found in subject
You'll need one of the Digium Cards to make/receive pstn call...Chose the best one fits to you...
To make calls over ip, voip phone is also needed such as grandstream, cisco, etc. or you can download x-lite from xten.com
And use it with your computer as a soft phone...

Echo cancellation problem
Hi all,
I have been trying to implement speex echo cancellation algorithm on STM32F4 Discovery board; however, I could not make it work properly.
I tried synchronous, asynchronous way of to do that and the only thing I heard was "cazzsdaos?eo?hodg etc" :)
I try to use empty array for all parameters in the cancellation function, but the result is always the same

Echo cancellation problem
Hello again,
I want to ask a question in my mind by reminding the topic below.
Can the reason of failing be that Codec, which plays sound, and Mic are connected the different clock source?
If it is because of that, what can I do to cancel the echo? Isn't there any solution for this? Is asynchronus speex functions for this?
Best Regards,
KAHYA
