do_mounts new sysfs support?
Looking at do_mounts.c, it does not seem to support the "major:minor" syntax exported in 'newer' sysfs (according to linux-2.6.15.6/init). The following is untested, but might work nicely... I will fully test this when I get home later today. PS, I also added some error output when it fails to parse the device number, just for kicks. As I said, I can't test this, so feel

Silence Beeper => Which small UPS's actually support it?
Hello, I'm looking for a UPS that the beeper can be silenced with nut via ups.beeper.status variable for a HTPC close to bedrooms. I have googled extensively and there is not a lot of information about which UPS's actually support this feature. There are few references to UPS's that apparently list ups.beeper.status as being available, but without actually being

Bug: ./ != $PWD
Hi, I can't tell the reason and conditions to repeat this bug... "ls" and "ls $PWD" produce different directory listing (of different times, so a subdir is existing in one listing and missing in an other). ls . $PWD Linux 2.6.15.6 GNU bash, version 2.05b.0(1)-release (i386-pc-linux-gnu) Linux 2.6.15.6 PREEMPT i686 /dev/hda5 on / type ext3

Help with libiconv problem
A couple of my colleagues are having problems building R-3.2.4 on Mac OS X El Capitan somehow related to libiconv. I personally don't have any problems on either of my Macs. I'm hoping thie make log might trigger something in the readers of this list: gcc -dynamiclib -Wl,-headerpad_max_install_names -undefined dynamic_lookup -single_module -multiply_defined suppress -L../../../../lib

Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun debugger issue?
I'm certain this question has been answered a million times over the years. However, I've not been able yet to find the answer either on AppDB or as so far as I have looked on the archive. When I attempt to run Tiberian Sun, if I set my 'windows version' to Windows 98, I get an error stating that there is a debugger detected; unload debugger and try again. If I set my

Indexing Mail faster
Hi, I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube). Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options? Would having all mails indexed give fast results? Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how much faster are we looking at? Really appreciate if someone could advise about this. Thanks Kevin

Madwifi just seems to work in Centos 5
I have not installed the madwifi specific kernel stuff (kdml and hal-kdml) from atrpms. I have installed with wpa rpms. And my Atheros card is working with almost no work on my part (other than runing wpa_supplicant as a deamon). Nice!

vesamenu.c32 and cat.c32
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have done some additional testing, and gotten it a bit close to what I was looking for. I had to modify the cat.c to eliminate the printing of the arguments and file name, and added a Press Enter to return menu line. With the below isolinux.cfg the options do display the files, and pressing enter than returns to the vesamenu. DEFAULT
