Policy routing question
Hi, I have a testing multihome setup, with the default gateway being one of the links and using policy routing to honor requests for a specific link. Everything works as expected when I request a specific IP to bind to. But if I request a specific interface things fall apart in ways that I can not explain: default gw (WORKS) ---------- rabbit@Thesaurus:~$ ping -c 1 yahoo.com PING yahoo.com

Error while processing ID
Hello all, my apologies if I have failed to RTFM, but the PDF manual and google were no help. I am trying to get a simple two node tunnel setup. I have verified that the up scripts bring up the interfaces as they are written; however my gut feeling is that there is something wrong there, but I am not sure exactly what. Misc items: * I have a Port line in horcrux because I ran INIT as a user,

New to Linux (Xubuntu) - Install Oxford Thesaurus + Dict?
Hello all, I am a brand new user of Xubuntu. Please assume I know nothing worthwhile about how to do anything with Wine or Xubuntu - I am a rookie. With the help of various forums - I've been able to do quite a bit so far - but only with their good directions, or I'd be lost. I've read your pages and see that some versions of Oxford's dictionary and thesaurus have run on older

call from cisco router to asterisk gets auto attendant
Folks, I have a NEC 2400 pbx(non-voip) behind a Cisco 3725, connected via standard wic-t1 card. The NEC needs to call two different asterisk servers with 4 digits. I have two way calling working with the one * box, but the other is perplexing me. Here's the layout * <--> Cisco 2811(192.168.13.1) <--> 1.54 point to point <- Cisco 3725(192.168.8.1)<-> NEC 2400. Functions with the same name: best practices
Ok, here's another best practices question - let's say I'm writing a package and I want to use a function name that is already claimed by a function in the base R packages. For the sake of argument, let's pretend this function is for profiling the performance of a function (like Rprof for example), and so an obvious name that comes to mind is profile. This, of course, clashes

Simulate ARX model.
I have obtained from transfer functions, the state space matrices for the following state space model. x* = Ax + Bu y = Cx + Du I have A, B, C, and D, now I would like to take the exogenous inputs and simulate the data using the state space model. I know there is a simulate function in the package dse1, but I am unsure as to what type of TSmodel to create to put into it. Could anyone give me

R: ARIMA forecasting
Dear all, I just have a short question regarding the forecasting of ARIMA models with external regressors. I tried to program a ARX(1) model arx.mod <- arima(reihe.lern, order = c(1, 0, 0), seasonal = list(order = c(0, 0, 0), period = 52), xreg = lern.design, include.mean = TRUE) for which I need to estimate the next (105th) value. Xreg=lern.design is - at this time - 104 rows long. I

shorewall dynamic zones confusion
Hi, I''ve been successfully using shorewall in our K12 school since the 2.x days initially on Mandrake and now on Debian. Because of that my config has got quite complicated. The firewall has a working MultiISP setup with four interfaces (I''ve renamed them with udev to easy their identification): lan-if, dmz-if, snt-if and dnt-if (one of the providers (the one on dnt-if) is a DSL

traceroute misbehaviour on dual-home using -i or -s
My Linux workstation (Mandrake 10.1 kernel 2.6.8.1) is dual-homed to two ADSL Internet providers. Card eth0 (192.168.9.250) is the default route and leads to an SMC router (192.168.9.254). Card eth1 (192.168.1.250) leads to a Linksys router (192.168.1.1). I''m not doing any NAT or PPPoE in the workstation - the SMC and Linksys handle it all. I know four commands that let you set an IP

Extremely slow Samba3 performance with ArcView/WinXP
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi! I have a user who is running a Samba server to store data files for his ArcView 3.3 application. Client operating system is Windows XP professional. With Samba2 (2.2.8a) this was working quite fine, it usually took less than a few seconds to load and render one of the GIS presentations with ArcView. We then did an upgrade to Samba3 (3.0.20b)
