On Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits : stack overflow
Hi,
I have little experience with Wine.
I use it to run two old applications I made on Windows98.
With WINE 1.4 installed on Ubuntu 11.10 32 bits, they both run fine.
On my new install of Ubuntu 12.10 64 bits, with the same settings, one of them won't run.
First I installed WINE 1.5.3 from the Wine ppa. Then I uninstalled it and installed WINE 1.4 from the Ubuntu repositories.
In both

copying .wine to new PC : were are the menus entries ?
Hi,
I'm moving my config to a new PC.
I do not wish to reinstall all Windows apps under Wine. So I installed Wine on the new PC (Ubuntu 11.10), ran wincfg and then I copied the files from the old PC /home/.wine to the new one.
My problem is : how can I recover the menu entries that were created when I first installed the Windows apps under Wine ?
I searched the whole file system for .desktop

htb2 -> htb3 problems
Hello!
I need to switch from htb2 to htb3, because of speed issues (for me,
htb2 is unable to handle more then 100mbit duplex with ~550 classes),
kernel profiling shows htb_dequeue_prio at 1st place with 3x isolation.
So, I''ve moved from 2.4.19 to 2.4.25 kernel (hi-pac for classification/marking
and htb3 for queueing), and traffic rate drop from 100 to 20mbit.
What can be wrong? The

HTB shaping & borrowing info
Hello to everybody,
We want integrate in a router/firewall (Debian Based, 2.6 Kernel), an HTB
shaper.
The goal is to divide the traffic for classes of workstations, at example in
three classes,
let say A, B and C.
Example:
A 70 Mb/s
B 20 Mb/s
C 10 Mb/s
If B don''t make traffic, 7/8 of 20Mb/s must be assigned to A and all the
rest at B
We have used CBQ and HTB, with poor succes.

vlan interfaces and tc
Hello
I have few questions regarding tc functionality (qdiscs, classes, etc.) when
vlans are in use. For example, consider interface eth0, for which I create
and extra vlan with vconfig, let''s say eth0.11. Then using tc I can add
usual things - qdiscs, filters, ... - to both eth0 and eth0.11. The
questions are:
- on which interface - virtual or real, should I actually use tc ? Or

HTB traffic shaping odd effects
Hi,
I''m trying to perform some (what I consider) basic traffic shaping on
our network utilising HTB. I have mostly reused the example on the
lartc.org site:
tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: htb default 10
tc class add dev eth0 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100mbit burst 24k
tc class add dev eth0 parent 1:1 classid 1:10 htb rate 50mbit ceil
80mbit burst 19k

Samba 3.2.7 and XP authentication error
List,
Long and confusing message follows...
I'm facing a frustrating problem. XP clients can use resoures on the
samba server by IP-address, but not by name. So, "net view \\servername"
gives "access denied" but "net view \\ipaddress" gives list of shared
resources.
Samba server (3.2.7 sernet rpm) is a member server in W2003 domain.
I emphasise that with

IMQ action
Hi.
-j IMQ is equal -j ACCEPT...? i mean it after -j IMQ packet don''t return
in parent chain??? cause -j ACCEPT action accept the packet in the child
chain and don''t return it to parent...
example:
ipt="iptables -t mangle"
$ipt -N HTTP
$ipt -A HTTP -j IMQ // after this packet packets go to -t nat
tables? or // it return to parent chain (PREROUTING) in mangle?

HTB
Hello,
I have problems with htb. The problem is that when I download
any file via shaper with htb, the traffic is very dinamic,
it jumps, for example:
if i have set ceil = 128kbit the results that it jumps from 112kbps
to 144kbps or smth like that maybe its not very bad, but when the
traffic drops down to 40kbps or less and then after 1 or 2 seconds
jumps to 144kbps, its bad :-( and it is often.

Thats exactly what I want from HTB to do..to prio the borrowed bandwidth.
