Ok, I searched but couldn''t find anything and I even tried the RoR IRC
channel with no help.
I get this error:

I used this code which I got from the RoR site.

I am using acts_as_taggable and everything seems to be working except that

is not being applied.
@resource_pages = Paginator.new self, Resource.find_tagged_with(:any => tag, :condition => "tags_resources.portal_id=#{portal_id}").length, 25, @params[''page''];

getting pagination to work on joined tables
As soon as I use Model.find(:all, :include => [...], :limit => 3) I
loose associations and can''t do :conditions on joined tables. I''m not
able to do pagination in such association.
Only solution I came up with is this beast:
# I set up a paginator:
@reos_pages = Paginator.new self,
Reo.count(conds.join('' AND ''),

Find By SQL + multiple tables
Hello all. I am trying to get the following SQL to work in Ruby on rails
and Oracle.
SELECT bugsheet.*, bugcomplete.bc_time FROM bugsheet, bugcomplete WHERE
bugsheet.bs_id = bugcomplete.bc_id AND bugsheet.bs_patchrel like
''5.1.12-B4%'' ORDER BY bs_cdate DESC, bc_time DESC
If I type that into an SQL program it works fine, if I try and use the

Strange error additions in generated HTML

Question marks in SQL string literals
Hi all!
Recently I discovered that AR tries to treat question marks inside SQL
string literals as parameters, however this behaviour shows in very rare
cases, for example (very odd, but...):
User.where("NOT EXISTS (#{ Comment.where(''user_id = users.id AND body ILIKE
?'', ''%?'').to_sql }) AND created_at > ?", Date.yesterday).to_sql
It will fail,

Changing adapters in ActiveRecord does not change the generated sql
If I establish a new connection with a new adapter (ie. switch from mysql to
postgresl) the generated sql is still mysql specific. I tried all sorts of
reset methods on AR::Base but to no avail. There must be something being
memoized on ActiveRecord base that has to do with the adapter and it doesn''t
get cleared when you establish a connection with a new adapter.

Using ez_where
Hi All,
I am trying to pass values to ez_where to construct my conditions. I
need
to know how the params need to be formated for ez_where.
My search class looks like this:
def search
@display_ad = DisplayAd.new(params[:display_ad])
cond = Caboose::EZ::Condition.new do
pub_date == ''@display_ad.pub_date''

Arel Union does not support #order or #limit
I just posted this ticket in Lighthouse, but thought perhaps some
discussion here would help point me in the right direction toward a
solution. Here is a description of the problem (from the ticket - https://rails.lighthouseapp.com/projects/8994-ruby-on-rails/tickets/6693-arel-union-does-not-support-order-or-limit)

OT: Anyone Using a Time Logger?
I have multiple projects and it''s important for me to track time by client
and by project. There''s a Windows application that allows me to do this, but
I''m looking for a cross-platform solution.
I looked at ConsultComm but it wouldn''t install on my Mac. Rather than
rewriting what seems like a commonly-required app, I wondered if anyone else

pagination over custom-sorted collections?
I have a little web app where we need to paginate collections of
items. I''m trying to sort the collection and then pass it, sorted, to
a Paginator, and still be able to paginate through the collection,
across several pages, with the new sort order. The only thing I''m
doing differently from the regular scaffolding approach is this:
@order_pages = Paginator.new(self,

Pagination links with separator
Hi,
I have @result_pages and @results obtained from paginate in an action. I
want to show the pages as
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 >
The fifth page will show:
< 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 >
and so on.
How exactly do I render the paginator to give this effect? I guess I
will have to use pagination_links_each. But being new to Rails, I need
help.
Thanks,
Yash

Pagination of Complex Queries
I''ve created a class method in my model called find_filtered. The intent is
that I take various params that the user has submitted, and let the model
build the query and return the AR collection, which is exactly what happens.
However, now I''d like to paginate the recordset. Everything I''ve been able
to find about pagination presumes that you have no pre-existing AR

custom find methods and pagination
i''ve got several methods in my models i use to find based on certain
criteria...i''ve done this so the controller code is less cluttered, plus the
DRY factor.
example:
class Foo < ActiveRecord::Base
def find_by_something(something)
find :all, :joins => ..., :conditions => ...
end
def find_by_something_else(something_else)
find :all, :joins => ...,

form and pagination question
Hello,
How do I get params from a form to use with a paginator?
debug(params) shows this

id: "1"
but in my controller, when I try to use
@hotel_pages = Paginator.new self, Hotel.count(:conditions =>
"hotels.city_id = params[:city][:id]"), 3, @params[''page'']
it doesn''t work. I suppose it''s a simple

also, is there a way to limit the amount of pages like some sites
