[Bridge] WDS STP weirdness
I am doing some testing of openwrt'd wireless access points, using madwifi-ng'd atheros radios. In the test configuration, I have three devices in a triangle, each has wds links to the other two devices. The ath0 interface is in ap mode, ath1 is a wds link to one device, and ath2 is a wds link to the other device. All three interfaces (and an ethernet interface) are in a bridge (br-lan)

Wireless Ad Hoc and TEQL
I''m trying to follow Chapter 10 of the howto and apply it to two ubuntu machines each with two 802.11b/g interfaces. However, I cannot get a connection. I would like the 4 interfaces to create 2 ad hoc links on separate channels. I have set this up successfully with the following: /etc/dbus-1/event.d/25NetworkManager stop wlanconfig ath0 destroy wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0

(OT) HylaFAX, IAXModem, Asterisk
I have all three running on the same box. I say OT because it appears asterisk is doing it's job just fine. It must be an IAXmodem or faxgetty (hylafax) problem When faxes work, they look great. I have ten IAXmodems setup with different ports and they register fine. I have ten faxgettys that startup fine. I start the IAXmodems and then faxgettys in inittab. They are setup as a roll

Can't recieve Fax: No carrier detected - Asterisk + iaxmodem + Hylafax
I'm able to recieve fax with pure SpanDSP 0.0.2 + Asterisk successfully but I have problems with some fax machine so I wanted to try using HylaFax to recieve Fax instead of SpanDSP hoping that it'll solve my problem. I'm trying to connect Asterisk with SpanDSP using iaxmodem. My system looks like this: ISDN <---> Asterisk <---> IAXModem <---> Hylafax Asterisk

Hard(?) lock when reassociating ath with wpa_supplicant on RELENG_7
Hi Sam, do you know if there is anything done about cbb(4)? I have many wireless adapters with ath(4), but only the one based on PCMCIA is making problems on FreeBSD. I cannot boot my notebook with the device inserted into the port, or it will render the system unusable (100% load on cbb(4)). And all I can see is the following: Jul 12 14:58:39 link kernel: ath0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset

Recommended wireless card (or is there a chance to get either iwi or ath fixed)?
Hi, after some time without FreeBSD I installed 7.1 on an IBM Thinkpad T30 (with ZFS root on encrypted geli, works great). Config is: FreeBSD hasking.alashan.nongo 7.1-STABLE FreeBSD 7.1-STABLE #3: Thu Feb 5 21:10:45 CET 2009 root@hasking.alashan.nongo:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/HASKING i386 I tried using my ath based D-Link DWL G650, which still seems to have some issues in regard to interrupt

[Bridge] STP Loop not blocking
Recently ran into a problem with the 2.6.18 kernel on Xscale arch when a br= idge, with multiple interfaces on it, is configured with a redundant loop. = All interfaces are left on forwarding and nexer switch to block when the lo= op is introduced. This was tested against a 2.6.16 kernel and the problem d= id not occur, interfaces forwared and blocked correctly. Any help would be = appreciated.

tinc and wireless mesh
Hello! I'm trying to make a wireless mesh network with b.a.t.m.a.n. protocol, and I would like to secure the wireless links with tinc. My test network is 2 wireless routers with OpenWRT Kamikaze firmware, and the network topology is the following: |CLIENT|eth0: 192.168.180| <--> |eth0: 192.168.1.1|MESH-NODE|ath0: 192.168.5.54| <~~> |ath0: 192.168.5.51|GW|eth1: 192.168.1.51|

how to change classful netem loss probability?
Hi, I am using netem to add loss and then adding another qdisc within netem according to the wiki. Then i want to change the netem drop probability without having to delete the qdisc and recreate it. I try it but I get invalid argument: thorium-ini hedpe # tc qdisc add dev ath0 root handle 1:0 netem drop 1% thorium-ini hedpe # tc qdisc add dev ath0 parent 1:1 handle 10: xcp capacity 54Mbit

ath network (wifi) driver (Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V3515 laptop)
Hello Sam, I've got a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V3515 laptop, with a builtin autheros-wifi card, but I can't get it working. I am running FreeBSD 7.0-STABLE, I don't know whether it works in -CURRENT. Over here I have the dmesg: http://junk.quis.cx/VNViVksv/blackbox.dmesg.txt I haven't compiled it in, it didn't boot that way (kernel panic iirc). When I kldload if_ath I get

read.table on long lines buggy (PR#13626)
Full_Name: Manikandan Narayanan Version: 2.8.1 OS: linux-gnu Submission from: (NULL) (155.91.28.231) Hi R-folks, I have two three-line text files: tst1, tst2 (they are the same except that the second line is longer in tst1; see cat() cmds below). read.table is only able to read the 3rd line in tst1, however reads tst2 correctly as shown below. This happens both in R 2.5.1 (windows) and R

Troubles with NetworkManager
NetworkManager used to work fine for me but during the last few installations its a big hurdle in the wireless connectivity. I'm using Madwifi and its interface is correctly listed and working but I cannot connect to any wifi AP without NetworkManager. I've two interfaces: eth0 and wifi0. Starting NetworkManager doesn't show any notification icon in the top right in gnome and I believe

[Bridge] Wireless Bridge problems
I am using the madwifi driver with the patch to allow changing of the MAC address and I have two other ethernet interfaces plus a pppoe interface. My outbound connection is ppp0. I have ath0, eth1, eth2 for internal interfaces. I have added these three interfaces to br0. Once the traffic leaves the linux router, it gets NAT'd and goes out through ppp0. All traffic on all segments works

[Bridge] bridge is not forwarding the packet
Hi Rahul, If you're certain that your problem isn't as Stephen suggested, you might want to have a look at this: --- (From http://ebtables.sourceforge.net/brnf-faq.html <http://ebtables.sourceforge.net/brnf-faq.html> ) How do I let vlan-tagged traffic go through a vlan bridge port and the other traffic through a non-vlan bridge port? Suppose eth0 and eth0.15 are ports of br0.

testing wireless security
I have been playing around with 3 ath based FreeBSD boxes and seem to have got everything going via WPA and a common PSK for 802.11x auth. However, I want to have a bit more certainty about things working properly. What tools do people recommend for sniffing and checking a wireless network ? In terms of IDS, is there any way to see if people are trying to bruteforce the network ? I see

ath(4) and 802.11g speed
So, with the updated HAL, I'm now able to negotiate an IP address via DHCP over the WLAN. Huzzah! But I've got two questions (now that I can use the card): ath(4) doesn't contain a list of media nor mediaopt settings that can be used. Some are detailed down in EXAMPLES, but there's no comprehensive list. (As well, and this is minor, the speeds are explicitly listed for 802.11a
