connection tracking
Hello I have some rules inserted in the NAT table dual SNAT and DNAT for a connection They use at some moment the same port of the outside network. The problem i have is that the connection tracking in the kernel checks first the oldest rule and then the newest one. I use a system based on ARM XScale processor. Is that the default behaviour and how can i change this behaviour? Marius

Interfaces basic question
I have a router with only one physical ethernet cable. I know it''s stupid, but it is the network I have to use for a demo. I have in mind to construct an HTB class tree for some network limitations for the outgoing traffic. The question is: can i use the HTB class mechanism on 2 subinterfaces of the same physical network card without any interference? Please let me know as soon as

tc on a PDA
hello, i have a 5500 iPaq with familiar 0.8.2 on it and i don''t know how to install a traffic shaper tool on it. HTB and IPv6
Hi, I''m trying to use HTB for IPv6 packets. In the LARTC archive I found a thread on this issue where a solution was described. The idea is to mark a user-defined chain then use the fwmark for filtering. However my attempt wasn''t successful. I''m thinking of trying my luck with the u32 filter. This is what I did, any comment is greatly appreciated. Thank you all. tc

IPv6 interfaces Fowarding and non-forward.
I''m running fedora core 2 with 2.6.7 kernel when I have /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/forwarding Set on Listening Deamon''s will not respond to Sync requests. if I turn it off which breaks routing of course. then the Deamons can make connections. Is this suppost to be normal behavior when the box is routeing IPv6? This only happens with ipv6 connections.

Policy based routing support for IPv6 in Linux
Hi all, I have a dual stacked (IPv4/IPv6) Linux host (S) with two interfaces that can both be used to reach a destination (D) and are both up. In order to make sure a packet is transmitted over the correct interface I use policy based routing to choose the correct routing table based on the IP source address. The network setup is shown below: |---| | D | |---| | | |---|

Policing IPv6 traffic
Simple police filter below works for IPv4 traffic, but not for IPv6 traffic. Tested with 2.4.26 and 2.6.6 kernel. Am I doing something wrong or is it bug? Same filter logic works with imq+htb for both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic. iptables -A PREROUTING -i eth1.101 -t mangle -j MARK --set-mark 0x101 ip6tables -A PREROUTING -i eth1.101 -t mangle -j MARK --set-mark 0x101 tc qdisc add dev eth1.101

Re: IP in IP tunneling [LARTC-HowTo update ?]
I''ve tried with iproute and it works now ! commands for A: ip tunnel add mode ipip tunl1 local IP_A remote IP_B ip addr add dev net1 local virtual-IP_A remote virtual-IP_B ip link set net1 up Same on B. And then from A i''m able to ping virtual-IP_B. It seems one can not use tunl0 as a tunnel name, is it true ? I think it will be a good thing to add to the section 5.2 of the

IP in IP tunneling
Hello, I am attempting to set an IP-IP tunnel between two PC in a same LAN in order to evaluate the performances of the tunnel (kernel 2.4.26). I read the section of LARTC HowTo about it and it seems simple but i do not succeed in setting it. I don''t find the new_tunnel.o module (cf LARTC HowTo). I found Configure.help a bit confusing : CONFIG_NET_IPIP "Saying Y to this option

IPv6 Host and Router.
I have a connection to an ISP with a 6to4 tunnel. I can ping and route through my linux box, but I can''t connect to services on the box from local subnets. For example I am trying to get a BGP connection up with Zebra over the Tunnel. I can see the BGP Syn requests from them, but my box does not respond. I have another tunnel to another linux box and when I make a connection from box

Bandwidth management under linux
In my search to control bandwidth on my network I found 2 projects.. 1. TC 2. BWM Tools - http://freshmeat.net/projects/bwmtools/ This brings me to 2 questions... Firstly, can TC control bandwidth in both directions? I read that it can only do 1 direction, which one I cant remember. Can you monitor the load on the queues you define? Does TC support IPv6? Secondly, BWM Tools seems to queue

RIF: Routing problem
Thanks Jose, I found the key in the routing table of Router2; it had bad entries for the farest subnets (didn't have the 'via' commands...). Thanks for helping me. Now I'm gonna configure the network with IPv6 'cause I have to make it work with Mobile IPv6. Anybody working on these funny things can mail me, so we can suffer togheter! :-) Bye, Mauro -----Messaggio
