tc filter oddities
I shape my upstream cable link with HTB from a script. My voip traffic (from the 192.168.0.14 host) gets priority over everything else to the near-starvation of other classes; the rest of the traffic is split up based on some priority rules (qos, empty ack packets, etc). eth1 is the uplink I''ve been using HTB and fw marking for the job until recently, when I changed the queue structure

tc filter can target only leaf classes?
(using htb) I''m trying to learn tc filter and it seems the flowid parameter can only point to leaf classes. Actually, it can point anywhere, but it doesn''t seem to work unless it points to a leaf class. Is this correct? For example, I have this tree: eth0 | +------1:-------+ | | +------1:10 1:20 | |

tc del filter
Hi, How can I delete an existing filter? Is it possible? I tried different combinations of tc commands but, while manage to delete an existing qdisc or class, I wasn''t able to find a way to delete an existing filter. The tc man page doesn''t even list the del command in the synopsis. tc filter [ add | change | replace ] \ dev DEV [ parent qdisc-id | root ] \

Deleting a tc filter rule
Hi, I am very new to tc. I added a filter using the following command: tc filter add dev eth0 V parent 20:0 protocol ip prio 1 handle ::128 u32 match ip tos 0x44 0xfc flowid 20:1 To check if the filter rule was indeed added, I run tc filter show dev eth0 parent 20: This gave me the following output: filter protocol ip

tc filter add ... fw returns RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument
When I run this: tc filter add dev eth0 parent 1: protocol ip prio 1 handle 1 fw I get: RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument The traditional interpretation of that gnarly error message is that cls_fw is missing, but lsmod | grep cls_fw gets me: cls_fw 2336 4 (autoclean) I can''t remove it because it''s in use, but all 4 statements that use it failed, so

tc filter problem with 2.4.22
Hi, I have a problem with ''tc filter'' on a 2.4.22 kernel from Slackware 9.1 distribution. The tc command binary is from htb3.6-020525.tgz (http://luxik.cdi.cz/~devik/qos/htb) I''m trying the following command sequence: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: htb default 1 r2q 1 tc class add dev eth0 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 1200kbit ceil 1200kbit tc class add dev

TC show filter command shows all u32 filters defined with different priority iin all priority.
Hi, I am currently working on the TC. I have seen some behaviour which seems to be odd. I know someone in the mailing list would have seen this problem or may have some fix for this problem. When I try to include u32 filters with different priority or pref, I could see the filters being set on all the priority''s irrespective of the priority number. See my sample script below and the

tc limit
Hi I have been playing with tc. I''m using htb and sfq. I tried to setup shaping of every ip address within a /20. I found that there must be an upper limit of about 2096 on the number of rules (classes, qdiscs or filters). I was testing a /20 which gives 4096 classes, qdiscs and filters. I''m using hashkey to optimize processing of frames. When executing the script below - it

TC Filter matching all
Hello! I was always using "default" in HTB to choose default class, but now I need to do it with filters. Tried following command: # tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip parent 10: prio 2 flowid 10:2 Unknown filter "flowid", hence option "10:2" is unparsable It is from example in LARTC Howto. My question is then - how to make a filter matching all without eating

tc filter matches ip fileds inside pppoe frames
I have a requirement which I guess it is not too unusually, however I haven''t quite figured out how to do it and couldn''t find any examples which handle that. I have made myself a Linux-based bridge, eth0 bridged with eth1 to form br0. In this bridge, I run ''tc'' script to handle QoS. So far nothing unusual. However, what''s different is that this

IPv6 priority in tc filter
Hi, I have recently started to use ''tc'' on ipv6 traffic and have come across an issue with tc filter. As per tc_filter.c in iproute2-050816, to match ''priority'' of an ipv6 packet, the u32 filter matches against the first 8 bits of the packet. From f_u32.c: if (strcmp(*argv, "priority") == 0) { NEXT_ARG();

tc filter question
Dear all, I have big question in my mind about "tc filter" sintax.
