tc ingress policing with multiple subnets
Hello everybody on the list, I have the following situation where I want to police the speed of incoming packets from specific subnets to 1024kbps and then police all the rest to 256kbps, which is the speed my ISP grants for the rest of the internet. So, eth1 is the one connected to the cable modem and then to the internet. I do: tc qdisc add dev eth1 ingress handle ffff: then: tc filter

HTB burstable for 2 interface , how ?
Dear folks, Here goes my bandwidth manager: INTERNET | |eth0 202.14.41.1 BW.Manager | | | +----eth1----192.168.1.0/24 | +------eth2----192.168.2.0/24 Total incoming bandwidth to eth0 is 1024kbps should be shared to eth1 and eth2, which mean each get 512Kbps and burstable to 1024Kbps if other host is idle. My question is how do i apply HTB to these situation ? As far as i know eth1 and eth2

FWD SIP phone format=2, FWD call format=4, why?
Hi! I'm trying an asterisk-FWD connection. I'm using X-Lite OR SIPPS as the IP phone. I configured the X-Lite and SIPPS to use GSM codec. Whe I call FWD, I get this info on the channels when the call has not been stablished yet: sip show channels Peer User/ANR Call ID Seq (Tx/Rx) Lag Jitter Format 192.246.69.223 613 1770bf3430d 00102/00000

Problems with deliver and account resolving
Hi! I'm currently setting up my first mailsystem based on dovecot. For a far way, working with dovecot was very convenient, but after I had to integrate deliver, it became massivly painful. My components are postfix as MTA, postgresql as user database and dovecot as IMAP server. When translating the mail adresse into the account name, something goes terribly wrong (Mail adresses modified to

Exim on all interfaces
Hi. I have a default installation of Exim with only a few changed settings. It appears to only bind to the loopback interface. I have not set any local_interfaces values, as the default behaviour is to bind on all interfaces. But alas, exim does not respond on its IP address: [root at obiwan ~]# /etc/init.d/exim restart Shutting down exim: [ OK ]

Computer in Samba 4.3.11 domain - logon server unavailable
We've a Samba 4 domain (no AD, just DC) with LDAP backend on Ubuntu 14.04. This server has been migrated from files backend to LDAP by the previous maintainer, I know the version is pretty old but we cannot update at the moment. The domain works fine with some W7 and W10 (updated from 7) computers, but we have purchased a new Lenovo laptop with Win10 which joined the domain seamlessly but

I just have 1024Kbps from my ISP and i defined the

Oops kernel (2.4.18) on Sparc32
Hello, I have recompiled a Linux 2.4.18 kernel on my Sparc and I receive some oops when quick disk access are performed. For example : I download some files on a local server with ncftp (-TR directory), and ncftp hangs up (with kernel oops !). I cannot umount the device and I must reboot the station. For information, my sparc is a SparcStation 5 (85 MHz) with 160 Mbytes and 3 SCSI

Shaping the sum of incoming and outgoing traffic
Hello, does anyone have a working solution for the shaping both incoming and outgoing traffic in such way, that for a given client the *sum* of incoming and outgoing traffic is somehow defined? My ISP does the same thing, it gives me just a line of a defined rate, no matter the traffic direction (i.e. here is your line, the clock speed is 1024kbps, do what you want). I''m a litte bit

Wait for 5 or just use 4.4?
I'm a relative newbie to all this so pardon me if the following are all stupid questions. Firstly, I'm setting up a web server and gone from planning to use Ubuntu (due to some familiarity as a desktop at home) to CentOS based on recommendations by experienced webhosters. However now that I looked into CentOS, I find myself at a point where it's transitting to a major new version. So
