Problem with trafic shapping and openvpn
I''m using shorewall with openvpn and traffic shaping at all of our offices.
I have noticed for a while that occasionally ping times are excessive. Usually
this is during overnight off site backups but some times during the day.
I have assumed the is was an ISP issue but now I''m suspecting it''s problem
with openvpn and traffic shaping.
In the test case have 2 sites

Round Robin trafic shapping
I have this problem:
I have an Internet line input with variable speed. I have a max speed and a
min speed: Vmax and Vmin.
The speed is always changing between Vmax and Vmin. I want to share the
actual bandwidth (you don''t not how much, you only know the speed is between
Vmax and Vmin) for N clients. The bandwidth should be shared so nobody can
get more bandwidth than the others.

Multiple ISP + traffic shapping = poor download speed
Hello,
Thanks for the great Shorewall which has replaced my hard to maintain home-made scripts.
First, what works.
Our local network is 10.48.X.X with multiple vlan, each on a dedicated interface. We use Shorewall 4.4.11 from Debian Squeeze.
We have a 2 ISP:
- isp1 : an optical fiber provider with 10 Mbps.
- isp2 : a DSL provider with 15Mbits/1Mbits.
We use isp2 as the default outgoing

Shorewall VOIP Traffic Control Configuration
I''m having troubles with my outbound VOIP connection. I''m convinced
that I don''t have QOS/traffic shaping configured properly in my
shorewall linux firewall, which serves as my Asterisk VOIP server and
Internet router/gateway. I don''t have a separate router box. I''ve been
using VOIP for about a year now, but just recently realized that I need

FTP/DNAT Issue
Hello All,
I know that this should be a trivial issue, but I''m stuck. I''m totally
new to Shorewall and although I''ve read all about the zones, they''re
still a bit confusing for me.
What I''m attempting to do is run an FTP server on an internal machine.
I''ve read the example guide and troubleshooting guide, but I can''t

Multiple ISP Issues
Hi all,
I am having an issue with a multiple ISP setup. I have followed the
docs online and I think I have everything setup correctly but I can
get the desired traffice to go out my secondary ISP.
A quick run down on what I am trying to acomplish. I want to send all
sip/iax traffic out one ISP in the net zone and then send all other
traffic out my secondary ISP in the dsl zone.

Uplink shapping
Hi everyone,
I''m controling the uplink traffic bandwidth between two ethernet linux

Got stuck when a traffic shapping script
Hi there list,
I got stuck when making tc rules to divide bandwidth between RDP client
and the rest of our Internet traffic.
Given the following problem:
We have a school with around 900 students and staff in a temporary
location (an old wodka factory ;)) on around 100 workstations. The
maximum bandwidth we could get was 1536 kbit. So we decided to let the
staff work in our normal network via

Shapping IP Traffic on an Embedded System (Non Linux)
Just joined this mailing list to find out if it''s possible to get my
hands on the source code for a Traffic Control Algorithm like HTB.
I want to shoe horn it into a router which is not running a Linux
Operating system but I''d like to see if I can get open source code and
compile it into the system.
Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks a million for any help

Shapping traffic
Dear sirs,
I have the following situation:
I need to prioritize traffic as this: Higher priority UDP traffic from VoIP
servers, Medium priority http port 80, low priority SMTP & POP ports 25 &
110.
Now, we run OSPF & BGP with Zebra routers on at least 8 different routers
before going out to the Backbone provider.
As I understand, the problem with Zebra is that only hold 1
